I'm going to plot an airship tour that stops at major airports in SL. The tour will start at Abbotts Aerodrome and will include the Kazenojin complex in Gray. If you have a large airport or airfield, please post the exact coords here and I'll include it in the airship route.

Not that I have an airstrip or dock yet, but shouldn't people post at least two coordinates, to provide the correct approach vector? :)

no that would be if he said ordinate coords have the x and y axis

North/South airstrip and pilot's lounge. :)
Caerful of the large starship hovering 50 meters above the runway.

regardless of the z coordinate is included, if I have an airport and planes land one way and take off another way, or if I have a tall control tower or whatnot, I'm going to want to have the balloon approach the docking point in the correct directionand orientation.

I was actually thinking of adding a docking port, but it would look silly if the balloon docked in the wrong direction, or went through an object in the process. :)

I've already recommended you to Cubey. I think you have excellence in aviation.

Keep it up, Jillian. :)

No approach vector is needed. I'll scout all locations before plotting the route. Also, the airship can't actually dock anywhere on the route -- it can only slow down a bit for a touch-n-go.

Keep the airport locations coming! I'm assuming the Amazon Nations airport (in freelon or minna?) is still there.

I could be mistaken, but i think that the the Amazons relocated to a private estate, either Aretria or Cytheria?

Surina could answer this, probably

Great service to have all these locations at one place. Makes learing about flying easy.

I'll be sure to buzz you guys from my flying boat. I'm almost ready to make a map of the current grid and mark off sims that are unsafe for vehicle traffic.

I'm building a receiving dock for an... airship. With a stationary zeppelin already docked. Could create a dock for "touch-and-go". Might that qualify?

define "large airport" ;)

I have a hangar with a couple airstrips hovering 100m above Egremont but I wouldn't call it "large"... just a neighborhood launch area... it's unfinished... theres a couple people working on it but everyone's been busy

Heya Cubey,

I would love to be a stop on the airship run!

Pimushe Airport (176, 57, 300)

Approach from the north (180 degrees) as the south side looks clear, but is a region border.

-Ghoti

BTW, Gallinas airport nolonger exists.

Would you land your airship at a mobile space station if I update the coordinates or keep it at roughly the same place ?

What is the current size of the airship? would it be able to dock in an hangar 10 meters tall and 20 meters wide?

My next door neighbors have a nice airport that gets a lot of traffic. It's a detailed build at a popular destination (orange thumb on the map), with a runway, helipad, and skydiving -- and seaplanes can land beside the airport on the river. Be sure to check out the terminal and tower -- Jade Opel did a great job. I asked if they were interested in being on the airship route, and they were thrilled with the idea. It'd be so cool to have airships cruising through the 'hood!
If you're still plotting the route, please consider Dancing with the Angels Airport at Grindlewald 96, 12. The owner is Joey Williamson.

Just completed Catfarts airport 2 runways NS and EW with docking for airships
floating 100 above fujin at x 82 y 142 z 100 would be pleased to see your airship
touch and go by there, Also a convenient elevator in mid terminal zips you to the ground on touch if its not there look down and touch it it comes up at warp speed.

I'll see what I can do to plot a course today. These sites are pretty spread out over the map, so apologies if I can't make a stop at your airport.

Thanks everyone for responding.

There's a nice looking airport in Miru. Bill Sterling is the owner I think. I may have his name wrong.

Ooops, missed this thread. Yes, the Freelon Airport is still there, approx 128, 180 but go check first. Large spiral slide down to ground level, great for rolling balls down, teleport up from ground level using the Amazon sign near the fountain.

Surina could answer this, probably

Yes, Amazon Nations now has a private island as home, Aretias, where we continue our tradition of building flying machines from canvas and bamboo. However Freelon is our ancestral home and shall always remain Amazon teritory.

Hey Cubey, Timeless just made an airport in Hogadon, next to the club. I don't know the coordinates to the airport but the club is Hogadon 188,236. Go there and you will see the airport. :)
