Mysteriously dissapearing Cards and Ratings.

Okay, i know for a fact that there are several people that I have traded cards with and/or rated, that somehow have vanished or dissapeared. I also know that I am not the only one this has happened too.

Has anyone else seen, heard, or experienced this? I have submitted a bug report... but is there something i don't know? Perhaps an expiration date on the cards in small print that i can't see...

And if this IS a bug... has there been somewhat of a wrench thrown into the rating system as well?

Please help me figure this out... or at least join my confusion.

Not only are the ratings being affected, so are the voting booths. They were supposedly corrected with the new and improved 1.4 booth. But twice this week the voting booth acknowledged my votes and paid me for one. Anyone else having problems?

I dont know about cards but voting booths ya. I had something like:

You revieved 8 votes yesterday.
Congradulations, you won $50 for getting 4 votes.

Did you get four votes the day before? My voting booth seems to pay a day late, although the counts are timely.

Water, I have had the calling card/rating disappearance happen to me numerous times with people having active accounts. Generally they are as mystified as I am. (:

If someone accidentally (or deliberately) deletes your calling card from their inventory, does their card automatically get removed from yours, as well?

maybe this is where Water's problem is coming from. Even the people that are "just as mystified" could have accidentally deleted the card, or just not be willing to admit that they tossed it.

As Mis said, yes.....it also shows up in your Inventory as "Deleted". If someone deleted your card, you will know it.

I had an interesting situation the other day with calling card. Apparently I clicked on "Trade Cards" at the same time as the same person clicked "Trade Cards" on me. We both ended up with the acceptance dialog and I ended up with two cards of the same person.

I'm not sure how that may have affected anything (and I hope they didn't get offended that I deleted the extra one).

Water & Alek: can you tell me whose calling cards this has happened to? We do clear out calling cards and ratings 60 days after people cancel, 30 days for trial users. So about a week ago we started doing this for the first set of cancelled trial users. However, if this has happened with someone who's still active, I'd sure like to know.

I have also had this happen to me. I don't remember the names though.

Well I cannot remember all this has happened to specifically, but it only seemed to have just started up. I have never deleted a card unless it said (canceled) next to it... and I have checked my inventory also to see if it was accidental -- which is also not the case. David Cartier said he had to spend a bit of a day getting cards and ratings back. Skee has also mentioned the same problem to me, saying she thinks it was all people from back before April or May... I had to rerate and trade cards with her a few days ago, and she was one of the first people I traded cards with back in March. I'll try to get David to post here, as he seemed to have the largest problem with it... perhaps he can describe his situation too.

The only one I remember in particular is Lyra Muse. We both were fairly sure we had traded cards before, but did not have one in our inventory and traded again. This was a while ago, though I don’t remember the exact date.

I don't have a voting booth - whoring after calling cards is low enough! - but I have noticed that some people I KNOW I rated, most back in June, now, those ratings have been reset to no rating. Also some calling cards are gone - one of them was your's Water, cause I'm sure we traded cards back in the Beta days. It's not a case of the card being cancelled, either, these are people I IM and see just about every day.

This has happened to me too. Several people I know for a fact I had their CC, I don't anymore. Actually had people say to me 'I know I traded cards with you and rated you. I remember doing it' yet we had to do it all over again.

Once, I lost Merriman's! No way I would have deleted it or he mine.

What about the opposite? 0.0 i seen people from the trial get calling cards of people they haven't even met. They didn't refer them, they just automatically have it. Its just weird.

...I wonder if disappearing ratings and cards is linked to why, overnight, I dropped enough in the ratings to now be oweing $1200 in tax when I only owed about $400 before the account history was updated?

If that's the case, something is really messed up here.

I noticed that a few of the older players took a hit in the cards, no doubt from having a lot of cards from those no longer with us. Some of the newer players, on the other hand, bumped way up on the rating chart. I'm thinking a good number were deleted all at once in the last couple days.

The thing is, I'm not noticing missing cards from disappeared users. I'm noticing missing cards from active ones. Several, actually. It might have something to do with me losing ground in ratings, but it's not just inactive cards that are disappearing.

OK players that no longer exist, their cards can dissappear. But I was under the impression that the ratings that they had given out were staying.

But this is also affecting players that are still in the game. So. Do ratings have a experation time, and need to be renewed? I don't believe there was ever information on this.

Sorry, just wondering.

Good Question Skippy......is there a time limitation on cards??? I know for a fact that Yuki and I traded cards....and the day of account update...i had to rate her again in all three catagories.........this seems to be a very costly bug for some players..any word on why??

It seems to have stopped for me, so maybe it was related to the upgrade or something. James Miller looks to have lost about 90 cards, which he can spare, lol, but some people dropped right off the leader board for calling cards, looks like.

There's no time limit on cards, but just the other day we finally scrubbed the main batch of beta accounts, so old-school residents were pretty hard hit. This should account for all the major downward movement in the calling card leaderboards.

As for cards of active users that disappear, so far we've got no leads. It would really help if I had more details about specific people and times of disappearance. Has anyone looked throught their trash to see if they somehow ended up there?
