Someone that plays this game is bound to be familar with Network issues. What do you think the login problem is and what's causing it? Thank you :)

General failure of Version 1.6.X

Soloution is to go back to version 1.3.0 the last version that worked.

Its not a network problem, we can contact the login server... it is there that the breakdown starts.

Magnum... what do you like about 1.3.0 so much? I seen you post going back to it like 5 times now :)

When I first started I think it was 1.5.1 and that seemed to work good... so I do not know what 1.3.x was like.

Oh, are you getting that "Unable to connect" or "We have encountered a problem" error message?

I can not say for certain but I am willing to bet both are also related to their login server. See, a server can only handle so many requests at a time (hits), if you exceed this number then it is unable to respond in a timely manor (times out) and your computer thus thinks the box is offline prompting the error messages.

The problem is that with so many users unable to log in and re-attempting to log in (specialy the ones that back out before the login server times them out) are creating more hits then the server can handle.

That is my thought, I am not at their NOC so could not tell you for certain.

Well, I've been doing alot of research on the problem, using my years of experience as a PC technician, and I've come up with a possible answer to what exactly happened to make logons unsuccessful:

Someone spilled their coffee on the login server.

LOL OMG you have no idea how many times that is a cause of problems! I get to fix at least 1 - 2 notebooks a week due to liquid spills. Servers usualy do not suffer as any good admin would not allow liquid anywhere near them.

LL decided to try some new technology for transferring the data from there net connection across the room to the log in server.

I'm glad you asked, Blake!

Basicly the problems started when the trans-plasmonic vertion capacitor stopped relaying interphasic flux streams in a conditioned burst of above 0.008% microns. This has most probebly been caused due to erosion in the sub-mesosonic particles that are the things MySQL databases are made of.

This has caused an inter-spatial nueucleonic impulse cascade that streamed trough most of the annular anaphasic confiement conduit, producing a general-effect harmonic ping that have eventualy escalated into non other thena full-size network block on several routes!

LindenLab's techs are currently at the field attempting to repair the situation by averting the trans-medium supra-tetron feedback back into a properly conditioned loop, thus solving the interphasic flux stream crisis.

Hope this helps!

1.3.0 was the last version that had no log in errors, no teleport errors.

Umm..ok. Let me look at it at a laymens point of view. When you have a Bottle Neck..by a bigger bottle with a bigger neck. LMAO! Im mean, money talks BS walks. If LL is that close to bankruptsy that they can't afford to fix the problem or, this engine is so outdated that it can't handle the load..what can I tell ya. Revamp the hold damn thing..if necessary, if that's the problem or it's just gonna get worse. Or make a new engine on the sidelines and then switch over when it's ready. I don't know if that's the problem, but; if it is..I hope they've been working on it a couple years. lol.

It wasnt coffee, it was beer. They started this week long party in the office you see, celebrating someones new position or promotion probably. Then things got a little out of hand, then it happened. . . . beer and pretzels went everywhere. Some ones bra fastener got hooked in one of the air vents then a whole row of pcs tipped over when she tried to pull it out. It was like something from a bad 3 stooges movie. Sigh. . .. . I hope they had fun.

So is that working for you and if so, where can a simple person like myself find a copy to dl, thanks dude!

Any other working versions would be helpful...then again so would the location of vast money trees and the 74' Grateful Dead tapes from those 4 shows they played that year (Jerry was busy filming a documentary and learning about narcotics hence the lack of music)...Thanks.
