Willow! You rock - Switchfoot is one of my faves. Anything by Dishwalla works for me, too. :D

YEAAA How about "Miss Emma Peel" or "Charlie Brown's Parents" :p

I've always thought Oingo Boingo's "Who Do you Want to Be Today" would be a great theme song for SL.

I think Love Shack by the B-52s should be the official theme song of all SL clubs. :D

<snip>
Huggin' and a kissin', dancin' and a lovin', wearin' next to nothing
Cause it's hot as an oven
The whole shack shimmies
when everybody's movin' around and around and around!
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby!
Folks linin' up outside just to get down
Everybody's movin', everybody's groovin' baby
Funky little shack! Funky little shack!
<snip>

my first reaction

the first idea that came to me is that there is no one song that could be used to reflect all of SL, so it would require maybe an album or more..

my conclusion is the DEtachable PEnis is one of several unofficial SL theme songs.. and well deserved, lol.

but seriously, SL would probably be well illustrated by the entire collection of Ween, as well as the entire Frank Zappa library.

..oh yeah, and Tiptoe Through the Tulips fits just right, too.

Believe it or not....

Sorry if someone posted this already..

The theme to "Greatest American Hero"
(show from the 80's about a guy who finds a suit that gives him super powers that let's him fly)

Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself.
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
It should've been somebody else.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free eee eee.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

It's like a light of a new day,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true ue ue.

Believe it or not,
I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free eee eee.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it's just me.

Matchbox 20 - Real World

Judybats - Don't Wait For Me

Tom Waits - What's He Building?

And for the SL romantics...

I Miss You

I miss you
But I haven't met you yet
So special
But it hasn't happened yet
You are gorgeous
But I haven't met you yet
I remember
But it hasn't happened yet

And if you believe in dreams
Or what is more important
That a dream can come true
I will meet you

I was peaking
But it hasn't happened yet
I haven't been given
My best souvenir
I miss you
But I haven't met you yet
I know your habits
But wouldn't recognize you yet

And if you believe in dreams
Or what is more important
That a dream can come true
Oh I.. I.. I miss you

I'm so impatient
I can't stand the wait
When will I get my cuddle?
Who are you?

I know by now that you'll arrive
But by the time I stop waiting?

I miss you

Where Everybody Knows Your Name
(Cheers Theme -- PHISH version)

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?

All those nights when your've got no lights, the check is in the mail.
And your little angel hung the cat up by it's tail.
And your third fiancé didn't show!
Sometimes you wanna go..

Where everybody knows your name
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
the troubles are all the same.
you wanna be where everybody knows your name

You roll out of bed, mr. Coffee is dead, the morning's looking bright
And your shrink ran off to Europe, and didn't even write.
And your husband wants to be a girl!
Be glad there's one place in the world

Where everybody knows your name
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same.
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

OMG that was the first 45 record I ever owned LOL You forgot to mention that when he saw a specific shade of red that his powers would all of a sudden give out on him, usually at the worst possible moment! :) I loved that show!

They did remake it in the early 90s with I think Jerry O'Connell. I was only a kid at the time but I remember it coming on after cartoons on Saturday mornings.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094516/ It was this show I just found it on IMDB it had the same theme song as Greatest American Hero and the same Premise but was called My Secret Identity when it aired in the US syndacated

Native Land

Stone the crows if you've done it again,
If I've told you once, told you a thousand times.
Sometimes I am so convinced
That we're casting pearl amongst the swine.

Don't ever let me hear you say
This is the life we folks must lead.
We shun the limelight, shun the glare,
And the circus built on a bigot's creed.
Don't ever let me hear you say
This is the life we folks must lead.
We shun the limelight, shun the glare,
And the circus built on a bigot's creed.

Heaven is a place I've heard
But we haven't been there yet, I fear.
We may have opened pearly gates
But sometimes hell stills steals in here.

Don't ever let me hear you say
This is the life we folks must lead.
Do you think silver turns our locks?
What gold do you think paves our streets?

You say we're in a different world now,
Where money and love go hand in hand.
But can't you see we share this town,
So why should we fight on our native land?

Don't ever let me hear you say
This is the life we folks must lead.
We shun the limelight, shun the glare,
And the circus built on a bigot's creed.
Don't ever let me hear you say
This is the life we folks must lead.
Do you think silver turns our locks?
What gold do you think paves our streets?

Can't you see we share this town,
So why on earth should we tear it down?

I used to think Matchbox 20's Real World - but over the last few months my choice has changed :

Clap Hands - Tom Waites.

Sane, sane, they're all insane,
fireman's blind, the conductor is lame
A Cincinnati jacket and a sad-luck dame
Hanging out the window with a bottle full of rain
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands

Said roar, roar, the thunder and the roar
Son of a bitch is never coming back here no more
The moon in the window and a bird on the pole
We can always find a millionaire to shovel all the coal
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands

Said steam, steam, a hundred bad dreams
Going up to Harlem with a pistol in his jeans
A fifty-dollar bill inside a palladin's hat
And nobody's sure where Mr. Knickerbocker's at

Roar, roar, the thunder and the roar
Son of a bitch is never coming back here no more
Moon in the window and a bird on the pole
Can always find a millionaire to shovel all the coal
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands

I said steam, steam, a hundred bad dreams
Going up to Harlem with a pistol in his jeans
A fifty-dollar bill inside a palladin's hat
And nobody's sure where Mr. Knickerbocker's at

Shine, shine, a Roosevelt dime
All the way to Baltimore and running out of time
Salvation Army seemed to wind up in the hole
They all went to heaven in a little row boat
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands
Clap hands, clap hands, clap hands, clap hands

Learning To Fly- Pink Floyd
02-01-2005 12:27
Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast, how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
Unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything
No navigator to guide my way home
Unladened, empty and turned to stone
A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, A state of bliss
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

Happy Workers (Tori Amos)

Coughing from the smoke of a black roof chimney
Marching to the beat of a hot roof o'er me
Hey, ho, here we go
We're off to work again
Bells are ringing
We are singing
Joyous in our industry

I love my job
He loves his job
Pull that lever
Start the engine
Pump the water, build the pressure
Push the piston, press the button
Pump the water, build the pressure
Push the piston, press the button
It's the perfect job

Happy workers
Happy workers
Happy workers
