I get a lot of IM's consisting of:

"Hello?"

and

"Are you online?"

and thats it....

A lot of these I don't reply to - as I usually don't know who the person is, or what they want... So I figure if it's important enough, they'll IM me back.

Also - heres a lil tip that some people may not know... if your contacting me via a calling card it will tell you if I'm online.

If you're contacting me via find - it will also tell you if I'm online.

If you're imming me by another method (like IM creator or something) - a good way to get me to reply is by telling me what you're trying to contact me about.

Siggy.

katykiwi,

I know you are talking about me, because I remember now that you had notified me about a problem on my Hallucinate lingerie set. I apologize for not fixing this, I simply forgot. You sent me one IM about it, and while I am not placing the blame on you, you never bothered to follow up before posting this nasty note and offering to tell people not to buy from me.

I work a full-time job, often with lots of overtime. I attend school full time as well. On top of that, I like to make stuff in SL, as well as try to have some fun when time allows. I am a nice person, and I try very hard to do quality work, and for you to call it a “junk outfit” and “an expensive waste of Linden” is uncalled for. When I log in every day, I have a ton of IM’s to answer and customers to help. Did you ever think that maybe I just forgot?? Would have been so hard to follow up with me one time before posting something like this, even though you didn’t mention my name? Yes, I’m human. I make a lot of mistakes, and I forget a lot of things because I’m busy.

I’ll refund your money as soon as I get in-world tonight, as well as take a look at the outfit and make any necessary corrections.
As a matter of fact, I was not referring to you. Interesting that you point the finger at me about not asking you in IM and yet isnt that what you did here? Well girl, you are wrong. The outfit in question was not the one made by you with a minor flaw. The outfit i deleted was junk. If you feel guilty about your work for some other reason then, hey, thats on you not me.

When you ASSUME you make an ASS out of U and ME. You owe me an apology..savvy?

Katykiwi,

I certainly do apologize. I have been a bit on edge and emotional lately, and I should have IM'ed you first to see if it was me you were talking about.

It never occurred to me that it might be a coincidence that you told me there was a "large paint blob on the shoulder" of my outfit, asked me to fix it, and I never got back to you, and then you telling the exact same story in this thread. I DID assume.

And no, I don't feel in the least bit "guilty" about my work or its quality. What I feel guilty about is forgetting about you and not getting back to you.

What I don't understand here - is why all these designers and such are complaining about losing the IMs - and how many IMs they get when they come online - when all they have to do is have their IMs sent to their e-mail. Seems a simple, obvious fix to me!

Even then, when you have a limited amount of time to be online, and work to do when you get there, and twenty IM's that need responding to that can each potentially needing 5-15 minutes of your time or more, it can be difficult to keep up and to get back to people as quickly as they might like.
