Are you ppl crazy? Back in the day everyone and their mother had a website about her.
The picture from her school was not taken by the guy who owns the website. It's all user contributed content.
I cant believe how detached you guys are from modern pop culture... at the time all these things took place (Feiss, All Your Base etc), ppl in my college hardly talked about anything else. Even my girlfriend became a fan of Feiss. She loves that wacky mp3 someone made with sound bites of her ad =)

Back in the day? That commercial ran less than a year ago.

Anyway, Ellen Feiss is hardly a household name here. She just appeared in one little ad, and quickly dissapeared into the fog of obscurity. I guess the only ones who follow her with such "Build Her an Internet Shrine" zeal are potential stalkers with too much spare time.

I think Apple picked her to do the ad because she's rather ordinary, a typical student. I just don't see why anyone would build a site around her.

Ppl found the ad very funny because she looked stone. All of a sudden everyone and their mother had a parody video, photoshopped pics of her with bongs and joints and stuff, it was crazy =)
Now its a bit passe like all other big internet fads but its not like anyone stalked her. She gave a few interviews even. You people are so uptight sometimes... jeez.

I'm not trying to disagree here. I just find it interesting how we Americans saw the ad, and moved on. Until I saw this thread, I had completely forgotten about the ad. On the other hand, in your neck of the woods, she's a pop culture phenomenon.

She may have looked stoned, but in America, stoners need more than one 30 second ad to make them famous. Now, if she was in a series of ads (like that "Dude, you're gettin a Dell" guy), I could understand building a site around her. It would still be a waste of time though.

Its not a phenomenon in MY neck of the woods... its just a net-geek thing that we caught from slashdot and other popular (american) websites. I suppose not everyone online is a geek but when youre studying comp sci just about everyone you know is a geek =)
The average portuguese doesnt even know what a mac is let alone ellen feiss. LOL
