Yes, most of the acting was almost hard to watch, and yes, after the first battle it slows down for 20-30 min, but aside from these bad qualities, the movie was so damn good, I don't want to hear it from you whiners. I did not like the previous two, but thankyou lord for this gift. Go out and see it. It's your duty as an American(/whatever you are if you're outside US).

Not the greatest movie ever. Then again, it was 99.9999% Jar Jar free. That counts for something.

Not the greatest movie ever. Then again, it was 99.9999% Jar Jar free. That counts for something. I just saw it. I thought of far too many parodies of it. It was okay. But it wasn't special. \ That and Darth Vader at the end screaming "NOOO" made me LMAO. _____________________

It was generally awful. Some examples -
When Darth Vader told Luke Skywalker "Together we can rule the galaxy!" in The Empire Strikes Back it was like Satan inviting his son to join him in a million years of inflicting suffering and oppression on humanity. When Darth Vader said the same thing to poor Natalie Portman in this movie, half the theater burst out laughing. Apparently Darth Vader grows a foot and puts on a hundred pounds of muscle between this movie and the original Star Wars movie; when he's finally revealed in costume, he looked like a boy in his dad's business suit. What's with the Natalie Portman character? She's a senator, a monarch, and a rebel leader in the first two movies, and shows tremendous resolve and leadership. Here, she gets pregnant and instantly loses all character, all strength, and all courage. She spends the whole movie whining about her "man" and what he's become. Oink. Far better that when Annikan tells her he's become Sith, she should whip out her own light saber and cut him off "at the knees". "No father of my children shall destroy the Republic and bring misery to the galaxy!" ZWAT! "Aaieee!!!!" Matter of fact, Lucas missed a glorious opportunity. The final battle should have been in keeping with the greatest moment of the Star Wars series, "Luke, I am your father!" Pit Annikan/Vader against his pregnant lover (Portman) in a duel to the death, and keep it all in the family. What happened instead was as lame as the "Wookie disco party" at the end of The Return of the Jedi. Great special effects, good action, incredible cgi scenery, curiously muted light saber duels, really, really bad dialogue, terrible plot twists, and a last five minutes that joined the whole series up way too fast and too tritely. |

Oh, you saw it at Pacific Hastings theatre too? ![]() That reminds me of interview with a vampire when Lestat scolded his daughter for snacking on the hired help. People laughed hard and long, until I decided to mess with their minds and look at them in horror from my seat in the theatre. Then it got to be the silence of the tomb as they thought about WHAT they were laughing at.... |

All dialog and deliverance was crap. However, the story was better than most give credit. It can be paralleled to Othello, Nazi Germany, the Cold War, and much more.
If anything, it was definately worth the money for the special effects. And Yoda is the man, along with R2D2, don't diss ![]() _____________________

Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

Anyone see the trailer for the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe? If so, what did you think? OMG, that movie is gonna be amazing! Also, anyone catch that Sidious' master learned how to "create life from midicloreans", then Sidious claims to have stolen all his knowledge ('cept the whole live forever thingy)...then convieniently, Ani is spawned from the force (midicloreans..) "Luke I am Your Father!. And over there is your force grampa...Grampy Sidious..." |

Well..it was indeed very dark and pretty entertaining, and once again confirmed the fact that George Lucas sucks as a director. The dialogue and interaction was awkward at best. The special effects ranged from amazing to corny, and the storyline had some goofy and rushed moments.
But overall it was worth seeing, if only because it the action and the fact that it is the last of the Star Wars movies. _____________________

I have not seen the movie yet. I am going on Thursday………I hope. LOL. Nothing you all can say will do anything I know the story and true fan would know about 75% of the story any ways. The problem here is simple. Most of you were a child like myself when aNH came out. I was only 5 when it came out. I can tell you all about that night and the movie. We went to a mid night sneak preview. It was big to me. Then I seen the others and hand the same reaction to them. I had all the toys (even the ones people say never came out till now). The move was my life. Many of you were the same way as me. This mad dash to see the movie, this spending of hundred of so $ to just see a movie is the problem not the movie. To many people put to much on the move so much hype that there is NO WAY it can ever live up to your minds eye of what it should be. I read one guy talking about how it’s proof that Lukes can’t direct, if you feel this way why are you watching one of his movies any ways? The movies are Lukes movies not your not mine. I am mad at Lukes for one thing. He took you numb skulls at your word and took Jar-Jar out of the movie. He was to have a bigger rule. It’s not your movie it’s Lukes move and if you want to make a movie then you do it. Till then Give me Star wars by GL not the numb skull group.

Anything with Minotaurs, Griffons, etc. count me in LOL
And referring to Seth's comments: "When Darth Vader told Luke Skywalker "Together we can rule the galaxy!" in The Empire Strikes Back it was like Satan inviting his son to join him in a million years of inflicting suffering and oppression on humanity. When Darth Vader said the same thing to poor Natalie Portman in this movie, half the theater burst out laughing. " Yea I have to admit I laughed my ass off at that one too! "Apparently Darth Vader grows a foot and puts on a hundred pounds of muscle between this movie and the original Star Wars movie; when he's finally revealed in costume, he looked like a boy in his dad's business suit. " I was thinking the EXACT same thing! "What's with the Natalie Portman character? She's a senator, a monarch, and a rebel leader in the first two movies, and shows tremendous resolve and leadership. "No father of my children shall destroy the Republic and bring misery to the galaxy!" ZWAT! "Aaieee!!!!" :: says in Cartman voice, "WEEEEEAAAAAKKKK!!!!" too right! " "Wookie disco party" at the end of The Return of the Jedi." LOL Yes indeed that Ewok-fest left me with a bad taste in my mouth, yub yub. Ah, phpppppppt on all of ya. You guys make it sound like the idea that "Star Wars is overhyped" is some sort of revelation. C'mon, the fact that Lucas is going thru the motions has been known by geekdom since Phantom Menace. The sooner one accepts the fact that George has fallen to the Dark Side of the Profit Margin, the sooner one can move on.
Sith is an enjoyable popcorm movie, which is exactly what a Star Wars movie should be. Note that there are a lot of people who worked on this movie who were passionate about this film, and it shows. Yoda, Palpantine, R2-D2 all rocked. I even (finally!) got the vibe that Obi-Wan and Anakin were friends. Sure there are faults...but lemme tell ya, if the original trilogy was released in today's cynical geekdom, it never would've gotten past the 2nd movie...Hammil and Fisher aren't Shapekspearian-quality actors, and the dialouge is *way* hokey. Mattar of fact, most of what everyone complains about in the prequels was very evident in the original trilogy. How about we accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative? I do that when I watch the prequels...and I enjoy my time watching them a whole lot more. _____________________

if only because it the action and the fact that it is the last of the Star Wars movies. Nope! Lucas always said that he was going to make nine total, three placed before and three placed after the original. However now he believes that he wants to go out with this one. However, the other three movies' stories are already written and will be made one day, maybe 20 - 30 years from now by a new director I suppose. As for the previews before the movie, War of The Worlds looks sick, and The Da Vince Code, even though it had no footage, was possible one of the best trailors ever made. And of course I'm going to see Fantastic 4, because clobbering time is my time. Back to Star Wars. I don't know about you, but it brought back good childhood memories of me beating my little brother with a stick (supposed to be a lightsaber). The Phantom Menace failed to do this, and I haven't even seen Attack Of The Clones, however I've already seen the new one twice. And yes, I did try repetitively to move somehting with my mind for a few hours ![]() _____________________

I just got back from seeing it, and I do have to agree that it was awesome.
There were only a two or three points where I got annoyed (Vader's size and his "NOOOOOOOOO!" are pushed into the same "point" but overall it was fantastic and i'm going to see it again on Friday.I saw the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe trailer as well... oh it looks so good. I didn't even know they were making it and when I saw those kids and then the big wardrobe I was so happy I giggled through the rest of the preview ![]() _____________________

Well, I can say it was the best of the three prequels. It's right below Empire and ANH as my all-time favorite Star Wars movies. Only real complaint would be Natalie Portman's dull under-acting and Ian McDiarmid's hammy over-acting. But Hayden Christenson actually improved from his wooden performance in EpII. And Ewan Macgregor... oh man... he frickin' stole the show with his performance. Sir Alec Guinness would of been proud. His heartbroken/disappointed speech to Anikin on the lava planet brought a tear to my eye.

The way that he and Anakin were acting at the beginning of the movie you could tell that they weren't just Master/Student, they were best friends (or brothers, like he said.) I can't even imagine what that kind of betrayal must feel like. _____________________

Mattar of fact, most of what everyone complains about in the prequels was very evident in the original trilogy. About that dialogue... I recall way back in the 80's, Lucas let Lawrence Kasdan write the screenplays for Empire, and Jedi (I think, could be wrong about Jedi). He said back then that Kasdan was actually a better writer. I also recall Harrison Ford commenting that some of his lines from ANH were a bit corny. After seeing the full prequel trilogy, its my opinion that maybe he should have let someone else write the screenplays. Young Anakin's "yippee" says it all. _____________________
