Predictions

After going through most of the forums and witnessing events in the game, I am going to make some predictions to ponder.

The sim 'Blue' will be renamed 'Americana' for the hard work and dedication of the residents there.

In a month, the Americana group will disband and the objects derezzed in response to taxes or new sims opening up.

Several months down, the road.. after futile attempts to bring honor to the sim named Americana, a striking event happened. After saving up cash, Da Homeys decide to build their own apartment complex in Americana. Americana becomes infested with minors seeking refuge from watchful eyes of adult subscribers. War and riots erupt and Da Homey's, now with an army of minors, picket the streets demanding Linden's to change 'Americana' to 'Da Ghetto' and from a PG sim to a mature sim.

In other areas, a brand spanking new mature sim becomes available. Zoey gets first shot right at the ribbon cutting and immediately places a huge penis store. After getting many votes, others build large penis' and as matter of fact, it grew so much the whole sim was owned by this penis group. In response to this glorious achievement of producing a player run sim entirely consisting of penis', the group demands the sim to be named 'HungLo'

A month later, 'HungLo' becomes the new Chinatown.

This whole post is an attack and insult to Americana!!

We have all worked our asses off to make this theme work. We donated every penny we have made from events, voting stations and by donations. We actively seek new members and ideas, even going so far as to totally give them the cash to purchase land, pay taxes and proceed with "their" dreams.

American is a growing community that will be a centerpiece for all of Second Life for years to come. To lump us in the same post with a group whose sole purpose is to breed hate and discontent, attack everything we in Second Life hold close, and to ridicule just about everything and everyone else is, in my opinion, an attack on everyone in Second Life.

One question.....Why do you spend money on something you are obviously not happy with?

How could it not be a joke? If he was being serious, then we have far worse things to worry about than worrying about what he said. Namely... Ironchef is a madman and everyone should stay away from him for their own safety. Heheheh.

I think its quite amusing and a testament to all the work that Americana has put in. I mean you are almost an empire with the amount of advertising and work on your sim there Tracey.

I would have been just as happy if he had just replaced Americana with Kazenojin. In fact I would have enjoyed the publicity. Being a large influential group means you have to be open to some criticism, satire, and humor. Just look at some of the gaff the WWIIOler's have recieved.

Not too mention the fact that a good half the post has nothing to do with the Americana sim.

With that being said, I hope you do realize Americana plans on taking over Kazenojin, also. Globalization at it's best!!!!

I'm sorry if I don't see this as a "joke". Americana is RIGHT NOW fighting to get our sim re-named, and a post like this just detracts from our efforts. I just hope that whichever Linden is in charge of sim names finds this post as funny as everyone else does.

Not to mention, even if he was serious, his personal views don't have anything to do with the decisions, that the group makes or the response to those decisions by the Lindens. We make our own decisions, and make our own future and cannot be influenced, by a comedian with a funnybone.
We are stronger than that. Props to you for your willingness to stand up, but there's no fight here.

Haha I didn't think I would be getting flames for this. I would be very pleased if all you Americana people got the sim change. In fact, Linden's should just buy your land if they are using it so much to promote themselves. Then again, since I've always wanted to be one of those crazy looking tarot card readers sitting on the sidewalk of Venice Beach, I truly hope my predictions come true. Not so much the Americana group disbanding, but just about everything else.

Oh, to make things clear, I am no way being angry or spiteful to anyone in the game. I may be guilty of having a twisted sense of humor but people will live.

I guess the forum has come full circle, and the intention of the original poster/author has been revealed. No attack, just good old fashioned wit, which I believe we all enjoyed.
