I don't see how an unmountable boot volume could have anything to do with SL. Sounds like perhaps something else happened at the same point in time?

Maybe they didn't answer because they don't believe in umountable boots...

'er, make sure there is enough volume in your boots to be able to mount your feet in them?

well i can say be glad u aren't playing ultima online, their tech support sucked in the past and still sucks today. they reply when they feel like it and that's a rarity. if they wanna get you in trouble they will email u right away, otherwise u might as well wait for a miracle to happen.

Jonny, an unmountable boot drive error really has ziltch to do with SL IMHO, unless you know something I don't or if your working on some strange workstation with SL as the OS...

It means that the hardware is unable to read the startup portion of the hard drive.

This is generally either a hardware failure, an OS glitch, or a nasty virus/worm.

Since SL falls into none of these categories, it's not really LL's responsibility.

No one is answering that because it's like saying "My computer doesn't go"

It could be anything, and most likely not related to SL. It will be fairly hard to help figure out whats wrong through forum posts and really, no one wants to be on the hook for being the local hardware fix it guy ;)

Myself, I'm a programmer. I don't speak hardware :p

Double post Madox ;)

But he's right Jonny, like I said, and like we all said, it really isn't anything that LL can fix.

Maybe your computer simply isn't up to par with what SL needs? Have you tried uninstalling SL and see if that fixes it or getting your latest motherboard drivers?

Inconvenient timing.

And, have you installed anything else recently? Have you had a power outage? Unmountable boot volumes normally occur because the hard drive goes bad, or the computer crashes while some program is writing to the boot sector (which SL doesn't do.)

Did I understand that you just got a new HD to play SL? So SL isnt the only new thing? The HD is new too?

Applies to any computer running Windows XP.

Your problem was not SL, and your HD was probably fine.

lol I downloaded that and it still missed it up. I think it might be something wrong with disk caching.

Incompatibilities between Windows and hardware specifically designed to work with Windows (read the side of the box on any of these heavily cached drives) always crack me up!

Thanks for that link Justice, you may have just saved a lot of people $80 or so on their next drive purchase.
