Chip, you have no idea what you are saying! More far from the truth, you can not be. Until my points are fully absorbed by LL and the FIC, we are clearly going to be alienating the most important contributors to SecondLife society. You mean those who piss and moan about supposed inequitable treatment on an almost daily basis in the forums? Yeah, SL needs a LOT more of those type of contributors...  _____________________

it is not a revelation LL plays favorites. wouldn't any business with heavy users or collaborators. as if oldbies don't have the inside scoop on some of the workings of LL. many oldbie's hang out with Lindens and know the alts or RL identity of half a dozen or more of them.
all the defensiveness from the term really does start to clarify the boundary of inclusion. why deny it? be like the land barons. admit your fetedness and gratuitously parade it. blaze i think your are way off. it's good for all of us that LL reached out to the FIC for assistance. these players, afterall, will contribute greatly to integrating the new technology into game play in some form of exploitive consumer product. what would you do from your participation? make some interesting freeware gizmo? what would i do? speculate on its socially transformative nature? a big waste of time! the FIC get things done. they collectively have turned SL into a britney spears - nelly video! the FIC, the financially motivated ones, are positioning themselves for the future, when bigger brand names than pixeldolls and preen invade the mindspace of SL technology. they are organizing themselves into collaboratives that will become the simmasters for virtual nike world and virtual ford car dealerships. what the heck are the rest of us doing that warrants special attention? playing ken and barbie? whoopti - doo! in conclusion - i'm going back to the off topic forum _____________________

The benefits of membership are my impartial attention when I'm not otherwise too busy, meager helpings of emoticonless humor, and if you're lucky: your SL name in an official bug report or the release notes.
