How about: God - for lack of a better term - doesn't stay hidden; we just have trouble finding God. And the REAL God is so mind-blowingly awesome that humans - when they do run into Him/Her/It/Them, simply can't handle it, and reject it. They may know the experience was real and reject it by choice, so as to live more easily, or they may reject it as something impossible, and therefore merely the result of some kind of misperception.

So... god would be

1. next to impossible to find
2. leave no physical evidence of its existance
3. easily confused with a misfire in the brain

What i'm getting at is that a god that does nothing is functionally equal to there being no god at all.

No. We are sentient, and we still follow all physical laws. Being sentient is the result of many physical laws. There could be a physical law that allows for the combination of a multitude of free-floating sentiences that make up God.

Before you said that god was a physical law, now you say that god is the result of physical laws.

Belief in god satisfies a very deep emotional need within people. The vast majority of people do believe in god, but its not something that is provable.

These things cannot really be discussed here. The superfluity of ego makes it impossible. Ego provokes ego, and ego is the enemy of such subtle discussion.

But that is OK. Ego is another flower in God's garden, even if it flattens the flowers round about.

Is it any wonder that he who knows does not speak ?

It doesn't matter, everything and everybody is exactly as it should be, good and bad together.

But Carl Sagan did not say it best.

Ah me - I can't dilly dally here on such fripperies. I have a material world to go take seriously.

See - even that sounds like ego. The damn stuff is everywhere, clogging everyones vision.

You're making my iconoclasm itchy.

Well, there are these funny scientists (a couple of them: Bernard Haisch and Hal Puthoff) that took interesting potshots at what there might be beyond our current detection capabilities...

And the nthere's this other russian scientist who jumped the gun and declared that this thing they had found, that permeates everything and takes every single quantum decision in the universe, God.

And I call it Eris.

Fnordium est Potentia. Amen.

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!
