From: wuvme Karuna
I choose KARUNA, because i used to play there.com
and there was a place called "KARUNA PLAZA" i did not see that there was a "Therian", but i think Wuvme Therian would have been stupid...

I wanted LOPEZ :) since its my last name.

OMG Wuvme, you are not JLo, give it up! :p

I originally intended "Vudu Yudu," for personal reasons, but when I realized last names were multiple choice, "Suavage" seemed to work best.

I didn't see anything better at the time... I mean, heck, TORley TORgeson, or "TORTOR the TORTOISE" as a children's book might go -- I got a good laugh out of that! :)

I decided to use Stymied as my first name, as I've used it before online, although it's not the name I usually use. It just went well with Ennui, which I chose as my last name. I actually like my SL name. :)
Stymied means to be held back, or kept from doing something you want to do. Ennui means boredom.

Psaltery because I like mediaeval pictures of angel orchestras. Garnet because I like garnets.

Erm, that's it really.

I wanted a name that few people would pick, I like being unique. Plus Fassbinder is German and goes with my hertiage.

I was aware that Fassbinder was a filmmaker, but I'm embarressed to admit that i've never actually seen any of his films. I do plan to fix this, but it really sucks to live in a town without a good foreign movie video store (I miss living in a university town, I got spoiled in graduate school with the culteral diversity). I really only knew of him from a Laure Anderson song where she mentions him.

Roo--in RL I am a very small jumping marsupial. If I have enough coffee, I can clear 12 feet :)

Actually, I very much enjoyed the "Tao of Pooh" and the "Te of Piglet" by Benjamin Hoff. Roo appealed.

I played in a really lame high school band called PEREGRINE FLYING so I went with it. Besides, they're very cool birds. I also projected to the future and knew Psyra would be proud of my avian spirit.

:-)

Yeah but then you hobbled it with the AOL-like first name of FlipperPA. :) What is the story behind that? Granted, you're no Edkc56, but then who could really live up to that but the big guy himself?

I chose my name because I like the movie deliverence, and once I saw Banjo as a last name, all I could think of was I had to be Dueling Banjo, so here I am!

I wanted a name that is like every prom queen and yearbook diva you loved to hate -- the "Aimee" is definitely the kind of name that has a "heart" drawn in thick felt-tip pen over the i, and the two "ee's" are definitely not in my birth certificate name (my strait-laced New England parents called me "Amelia" and probably saddled me with some great-aunt's middle name like "Prudence" as well). "Weber" is the kind of name that makes you think "ordinary" and "normal" and "lots of them in the phone book" and "WASP".

I used the name Beryl for the four and a half months I was in There.com beta, so I intended to use it in SL, too. Since a beryl is a gemstone that is often green, I thought Greenacre was an apropos surname. I would have preferred just "Green" or "Greene," but, oh, well.

Incidentally, I chose Beryl because it sounds more sophisticated and unique than my real given name, Molly. Oh, and also because my birthstone is an emerald, which is a beryl. :)

I came about the nickname of Flipper in 5th grade at age 10, in RL. I've been FlipperPA on the INTARWEBS until about 1994 or so. I was Flipper before that on the INTARWEBS and BBSes, and at Yahoo! as well. Then someone in Yahoo's Feted Inner Core got to take Flipper and I was forced by them to switch my user name. Not wanting to have different usernames, I decided FlipperPA would work nicely, which is what I use everywhere now...

...except for Yahoo. Someone ELSE in Yahoo's FIC decided they wanted FlipperPA. So, once again, Yahoo instructed me to change my user name again. So now there, I'm FlipperPhillyPA. VERY exciting!

I've been FlipperPA for about 11-12 years, and while I'd prefer to just be Flipper Peregrine here (due to last names), I've given up requesting that feature as I've been told its not possible for 18 months. Even though a friend's alt was required to change her name and it was done successfully. :-) I've given up that crusade.

My alt accounts have much more humorous names. My RL name really sucks... Tim Allen. But at least I'm google-proof!

Regards,

-Flip
