As the day must have a night, I figure that in the spirit of progress there ought to be an antithesis to Jake Reitveld's thread. Feel free not to ask me what you want to know and I will reveal the answers you seek to the questions you have forgotten.
(And, yes, I have the credentials to fill this position.)

From: Jake Reitveld Green lights over Ventura. When the crescent moon cuts through the light of Orion, there will be a calamitous non-sequitur. But to answer your question, fasten your safety belt.

Who does not love the chill caress of the early-autumn wind and the warm embrace of the golden sun?

From: Ardith Mifflin Who does not love the chill caress of the early-autumn wind and the warm embrace of the golden sun? Actually, recent studies have shown that wine tasting has more to do with color than with flavor. If you give professional wine critics white wine colored with red dye, they are more likely to describe it with warmer adjectives such as "autumnal" or "ruddy." The blind have a career field waiting for them while the winter of the sighted wine taster draws nigh.

From: Seth Kanahoe OK. How about this: Is there nothing you will not reveal? Everything is without nothing, so my revelations are only relevant to everything. In September of 2004, Stephen Hawkings reneged on his view that information could be destroyed within a black hole. The reversal of time is still possible and string theorists continue to gain holographic ground. If I were to reveal nothing, I'd have to step outside the boundaries of the universe. So is there everything I will reveal? Yes. But can I tell you how to recode the pieces of the hologram? No. The information is there, but it's up to you to discern it. From: http://www.sciencenews.org/articles/20040925/bob9.asp In one picture emerging from string theory, the essential properties of an object can be deduced entirely from the object's surface, just as the full shape of a three-dimensional object can be captured in the patterns imprinted on a flat, two-dimensional hologram.
This holographic view of the universe was first proposed a decade ago by Gerard 't Hooft of the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands and has been further developed by other scientists, including Lenny Susskind of Stanford University.
String theory suggests that nothing ever actually falls into a black hole. Material is instead smeared out around the horizon. In this framework, the interior of a black hole is not only inaccessible to someone who stays on the outside but is also one enormous illusion.
If nothing falls into a black hole, there's no paradox. Hawking radiation can carry information from the premises because the information never went into the black hole in the first place.

We regularly spend metric ass-loads of money in a vain attempt to get pandas to fornicate and multiply. Why don't we just give them calculators?

From: Ardith Mifflin We regularly spend metric ass-loads of money in a vain attempt to get pandas to fornicate and multiply. Why don't we just give them calculators? The panda's thumb is not truly a thumb, but an enlarged sesamoid bone. Its thumb is not very opposable either, though it is considered opposable... technically. Really, this is just God's way of telling us that we are superior to Giant Pandas because Giant Pandas can't use guns or plot graphs.

From: Seth Kanahoe Oh, no. You cannot get off so easily. There is no meaningful difference between "information", how "evident" it is, how it is "arranged", or how it "behaves" dynamically. J'accuse you of "semantics"!!!! Meaning is a construct, but not quite like Lego because it isn't always made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. Signifiers can never apprehend the signified, language can only truly be viewed as a text as it relates to itself. No one gets off easily. Define "meaningful." The only reason I'm addressing this directly is because you didn't ask a question. If you had, then I would know what not to talk about so that I could better answer the question you forgot.

You just have to get used to it. (...) Rain falls and the flowers bloom. No rain, they wither up. Bugs are eaten by lizards, lizards are eaten by birds. But in the end, every one of them dies. They die and dry up. One generation dies, and the next one takes over. That's how it goes. Lots of different ways to live. And lots of different ways to die. But in the end that doesn't make a bit of difference. All that remains is a desert." Murakami Haruki, South of the Border, West of the Sun

Please 'unpack' the following language construct (it is really a poem): "Two pounds of ground beef, seedless grapes, loaf bread"

An old master asked, "What is the sound of one block of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene connecting?".
The student was enlighted.
