So who is playing Guild Wars now?

I know, I know, I did the search and saw about 6 threads on this subject. I decided to be an idiot anyway.

So I got Guild Wars two days ago, and it's great. I noticed there were a few guilds made by the fabulous people of Second Life. I was just wondering, who is playing and if anyone made a guild. I would so like to join a SL guild in Guild Wars. The community here is just so great.

The first day I logged into Guild Wars I saw the word "penis" about 50 times the first half hour.

I need to get used to the under 18 crowd.

But if anyone is playing and/or has a guild, look me up in game. Same name. Arbel Vogel is stuck on me.

Oh, and I am an Elementalist/Monk lvl 7.

I just heard of it last night Arbel! I'd never heard of it before. My two friends play it and they love it. I don't know much about it though.

Hey, Arbel, I'm playing that. It's great. I'm level 13 so I can probably give you some good stuff to help you out. Reviewing that for the paper. It's very fun.

I actually have an extra copy of Guild Wars collector's edition I got from the publisher. If someone wanted to help start an SL guild and was serious about it, I'd give that up.

I would be playing it, but the USPS misrouted it and it's over a week late now.

Why didn't they use FedEx?

I've been waiting to hear about that. I wanted a more combat-oriented online experience without quitting SL, and I didn't want to pay another monthly fee, so I had high hopes about Guild Wars. After these reviews, I'll have to go pick up a copy!

I was playing the beta test but jump ship to come here. I enjoy SL more as it is more "varied" then most MMORPGs. I find myself addicted to these type smore then the DAOC, Everquest, etc.

Mememe... once in awhile anyway. It's a good no-fee based game to play once in awhile but I wouldn't spend hours a week on it. There's SL guilds?

The "maturity" level (heh) is quite horrid, but I pretty much ignore the chat and shrug off the idiots. One of the nice things about the design, for all it's flaws, IS that you only have to be tortured by these idiots when in "town" type areas.

No guilds in SL but you got groups and mafias here. Different name same stuff. I personally didn't have a guild in Guild Wars.

So, since you assumed that I was new and didn't know SL didn't have guilds, and I assumed that people would understand what I was asking based on the lousy context, does that multiply or anything?

So that would make us like a double jackass or something, that sucks.

I think that makes it ass^2, but my calc is out of batteries.

I'm in Guild Wars some, but still like to play World of Warcraft. If I would have had to pay each month to play Guild Wars I wouldn't have gotten it.

I am Count Dargothe - Necromancer/Ranger level 5. The guild I'm in isn't an SL guild, its a guild with some players from the WoW guild I'm in.

hmmmm was waiting for a response from either members of Dragons Elite or Legion of Spoon as indicated here, but if anyone wants to we can just start a new guild.

Or not, no biggie.

Mesmer with no subclass here. I really like it.

Legion of Spoon is a functioning guild in Guild Wars (and other games). Our requirements are that you play SL and you not be a jerk. Anyone who wants an invite look up Misnomer Jones or Buttonpusher Jones in GW and we will happily send you an invite. Several of us have played since the BWEs and will be happy to help as we can.

Edit to add we have the LoS Guild in City of Heros and members who also play WoW. We are trying to create an extension of the community of SL that also enjoys participating in other games. It's been in existance and informal for awhile, but we really wanted to get more SLers involved so buttonpusher and I have been trying to spread the word more lately.

Straight Ranger here, but I'm thinking of taking Elementalist as a secondary.

I haven't joined anything yet, but I do enjoy having the whole world to myself or just a couple of other people. I've only had one problem with a jerk so far, and it really wasn't that bad.

I had just started. I mean JUST started. I was flipping through the manual, standing off to the side by myself, and cycling through the emotes to see what they looked like.

Then this guy walks up and asks what I'm doing, because I guess it looked a bit weird. So I told him. Then he invited me to join a party, and I politely declined since I didn't know what I was doing yet. But he kept pushing, telling me that he'd wait for me, and then just commanding me repeatedly to come along. I politely declined again, and after ignoring him a little he went away.

As griefing goes, that's not much. He was only mildly rude throughout the whole thing, and he went away rather easily. Probably just some kid who really wanted to partner up. No biggie. Over all, I'm having a lot of fun with the game.

In fact, tonight I'm going to see if somebody will help me bag a bear!

It's not the OMGOMGOMG-I-HAVE-TO-SPEND-8-HOURS-A-DAY-IN-IT type of game, but it's good for a few hours of killing stuff once in awhile.

Here's my original char at the entrance to the Northern Wall area. Right now my N/Mo is lvl 13, E/Me is lvl 11. Our Guild has a cool cape, but it's going to take a while to get the Guild Hall.

What I like about Guild Wars is that tactics really matter. You can't pick up a super weapon, and run in a straight line, blasting away Charr. : )

Tactics do matter more, and that's something I like about GW, but I'm disappointed that what they said about the "level treadmill" being eliminated turned out to be rubbish. It still feels like a treadmill. Less so than other MM games (if you even consider it to be the same type of game), but it does.
