Y'know, if you watch that video without the sound, it looks like a cheap hack job from the 80's. I don't know WHAT they were thinking with the pink SUV in the clouds but JESUS it's tacky. LOL what happened to videos like "Losing My Religion" is what I wanna know.

LOL what happened to videos like "Losing My Religion" is what I wanna know. The video was made to intentionally be cheesy. It's just that it's getting hard to tell with Britney. Did anyone read her "Letter of Truth"? _____________________

Contrariwise, I recently bumped into Peter Gabriel's video compilation called Play which contains some of the best works to come out of the music video era. I once read a critic's take on Gabriel which said something like "It is not that he is a virtuouso musician, it is just that uses what he can do so damn well". I'm sure you'll all agree that the video of "Shock The Monkey" - produced with a budget probably less than a bag of chips - is purty near the pinnacle of the art. |
