If you need to make a special day to ecourage people not to be mindless consumerist robots then they're already lost and you're wasting your time.
This argument is based on the false assumption that people cannot learn.

Beyond that, if one substitutes other days of learning or remembrance into the above argument it sounds odd. For instance, if you need to make a special day to encourage people not to forget veterans then they're already lost and you're wasting your time.

And the most effective way to make them learn is through pain. :)

I agree with the basic idea behind BND but Adbusters rub me the wrong way. On the other hand, if you can get arrested for it, maybe it *is* bothering the right people.

I still bought some underwear in SL, though. I blame telehubs.

Malls are private property, of course they can call the police on you for soliciting. Instead of signs, maybe jammers could get together in large groups (100+), all dressed as zombies, and then slowly trudge through a major mall (like Mall of America). There's a message without having to say anything- plus there would be too many participants spread throughout the mall to get them all to leave.
