Been a long time since i played SWG, i was the mayor and master architect of the largest city on one of the planets (forget which one now) Anyhow i was on Chamera server, but i did get miffed that SOE forced people to open more accounts to have the freedom to have more than one character specialisation. I was trapped having my skill points on mayor, artisan and architect, and i didnt want to lose that setup. So anyhow in the end other games pulled me away. I do miss it slightly but you know what, SL rocks too much for me to even try any game ( at the moment anyhow) :)

Welcome to SL :)

Yep. Alot of people from different games congregate here in SL because of the freedom of creation it provides.

And everyone is already a Jedi, a Sith, or a hairy Wookie.
And, we can do whatever we want with our lightsabers.

RRRROOOOOOOWWWWWWRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! (trans. Welcome, Bitches!)

I am not a former SWG player, but a bunch of us (including some SWGers) roleplay Jedi in SL. Our home is currently in Sirius, in the NW corner, but we plan on buying a sim soon. If you are into the Jedi thing, come on by and talk to some of the members of the Jedi Alliance groups. I am sure you'll find some former SWG players around.

One note: we strive for realism and roleplaying, not making a lightsaber or force push that can kick avatars 40 sims away. So bring your roleplaying hat and join us!

Cheers,

I was Eto and Neato on Bloodfin. I quit after the first round of the combat "upgrade". I really loved SWG at one point, at one time having 3 accounts. It's really gone downhill.

There is a big Sith group (Dark Lords of the Sith, the sim is Korriban) and there is a big Clone Army group (the Hughes sim). There are also a few Mandalorians and Alliance Navy groups out there. Other than those, and us Jedi Alliance people (and the few disorganized rogue Jedi/Sith groups), there is not much else Star Wars.

We would like to see other groups branch out for roleplay - for instance, a Naboo group or Twi'leks or Bothans or something. That way all of us would have more to interact with. When we get our sim going, we would encourage other similar Star Wars groups to consider a sim adjoining ours. This would create a whole cluster of Star Wars-themed sims.

Anyways, hope to see you online sometime.

I was part of the closed, and later open betas for SWG. I played for a little over a year after beta.

I was mayor of the largest rebel town (at the time) on my server. Just got fed up with all the BS and decided one day that was enough was enough.

I returned there recently with my SL best friend (at the time of preorder for Rage of the Wookiees) to give it a second chance. Alot of stuff had changed for the better and it was once again mostly fresh-feeling to play... but after awhile I got bored again. Just re-quit last night.

The Grey Jedi are alive and well in SL as well. :D

I was, uh, Numa on Bloodfin! I quit before the CU as well and recently re-upped for a month.

Man was *that* a waste of 15 bucks... SWG could have easily been the best MMO evah.

I still have an active SWG account, and my main is on Bria server. He's a Master Fencer with various other skills.

I keep wanting SWG to be fun, but I play it for a week, get very bored and leave it alone for a month or so.

A bunch of us just joined SL in the last few days. All from the Intrepid server. More people are coming soon. We enjoy our "community" there, so we brought some of it with us over to here. :)

I have played SWG since Beta in 2003. Recently retired from being Mayor of Serenity Valley, Tatooine. I still operate a Tailor shop near Mos Entha. My alt char is a dancer/musician/image designer and is married to a Jedi.

SL is to be my vacation from being a politician and multi-millionaire businesswoman with a Jedi to hide from the Bounty Hunters. :P A girl just wants to have fun.

Hey there, Akhik Oslatta / Jasper Spin, Master everythings at some point on the Chilastra server, was playing SL long before I played SWG, been playing on chili for a little over a year and a half now. Very saddened by the changes and will most likely be leaving game myself... glad you decided to check out SL.

To you and anyone else moving to SL from SWG (or any other game for that matter) the first thing you need to do to learn to "play" is to completely toss out the concept that SL is an MMO, it just doesnt work that way. Once you've begun to delve into the possibilities and power SL affords, I know you'll dig it.

Plus, unlike certain OTHER companies, Linden Labs loves and takes care of its "crafters" :P

May the force be with you. Welcome to SL.
