From: Hooch Matador mulch left months ago and SL survived (much to my surprise) but i logged in today to the forums and the nonsense i see from the religion baiting, resmod hating, and quashing of speech continues makes me glad i took the lifeboat out and dont worry, you wont see me for very long. this place just aint for me. just trying to share my opinion and perspective the marketing doesnt match the experience and I felt/feel taken advantage of but then again i think the concept of the metardverse is fairly ridiculous, so what do i know? I'm sorry Mulch is dead - I miss him and his acerbic wit a lot. On the Metaverse thing - what's a metaverse? [Personally] I haven't seen one yet. SL for me is an electronic medium - a sort of meeting place, a way to express things artistically. It is one way, among many to do that. Not all of them [electronic] (best word I could think of to describe it, probably not adequate). edited to say that I never had "expectations" of anything more either I guess, which may make things different for me. One's expectations of something can make a big difference in their perception of what they are getting out of the experience. .

Sl, for someone like myself, was a godsend...without going into the long story of my life, ill just say for a very long time i was not able to get out, to even see people, to walk, to run, to "fly"...but one rainy day i stumbled across SL, and my "life" as you could call it was changed...i met some of the most charitable, funloving,intelligent people i had ever met here, and for all the bitching and complaining i as well do, as many typo's as i make, no matter how badly the Lindens commercialize it...SL will always be a magic place to me...Flame me as you will...but its still a very kewl place

I agree that SL has changed my life for the better. I had a very long depression that was work related and family related and, well, real life sucked. I've met people in SL who have counseled me, become my best friends, and really helped me work through some terrible things in my life. I'm a creative person, but I don't build or script or design for a living in SL. Just the opportunity to socialize with people who aren't oppressed and angry has made it worth the annual fee and other related costs. Hey, it's cheaper than therapy, and it's fun besides. And, I'm in love with the most wonderful person also, so SL FTW |
