Hmm, and the English soccer hooligans didn't riot? Not as badly as they have done in the past. There was a big crackdown before the tournament - known hooligans were required to hand in their passports and not leave the country while the World Cup was on, and any caught sneaking into Germany were sent back home. They also sent English police over there and German police over here to keep an eye. |

I hid from the ones doing that in the UK Yes, from what I hear it was pretty bad in some places. One poster on another forum described his High Street as a place of piles of vomit, lots of broken glass and bloodstains.  _____________________

Isn't there a law that, at least during World Cup time, you have to call it by its real name, Football?
I'm extatic that Portugal won (Although, I would have rather it not be for penalty kicks, but what're y'gonna do? That's the way the game is played). Here's to hoping. I'll be wearing my Portugal flag on my AV until it's over. |
