When in the garden. It digs an hole, poos beside the hole and then fills the hole in.
Indoors - It stands in the litter tray and hangs its ass over the side of tray and craps on the floor.
Is this common?
I've tried talking to it but it doesn't seem to listen. Do I need a new cat?
Please help!!!

Dig the hole yourself...as cat is crapping...throw him & its crap inside and burry both yourself.

My cats poo in the litter box, then get out and scrath the floor around the box. I also suspect them of peeing on the bathroom floor when I'm not home, but since it just goes down the drain I have no proof... just supicion. And pragmatically, if I can neither see nor smell the cat pee then it isn't causing me any problems anyways. |

One of my cats (now deceased) was a big guy and standard sized litter boxes were too small for him. He would often end up with his butt sticking out and have it miss the tray. I tried one of the extra large covered boxes, which fixed the poo problem. However, he took to peeing against the inside of the lid and it would run out the sides. The best compirmise I could find was the extra large box with high sides and leaving the lid off. I kept the litter level low enough that he mostly hit the sides of the box instead of going over the edge.

Damb ive experienced this, You need cat litter that is in big chunks, the finner stuff clogs up there paws and claws and thats why they dont get in the tray properly. There is nothing more stanky than a cat shit.

Like... 20 of them! I came home to see the floor littered with glittery silver packages, and for the next couple of days the dog was pooping condoms. That's probably all the detail I should go into, but try explaining THAT to your roommates. |

My roomates dog was walking around cowering, and my roomate turned really red when I asked him when he got home what in the world could this be....at the time I had no idea. |

Well, in my experience some cats need to be started properly every morning to ensure correct function. The best way to do this is by feeding the cat string each night... you get the rest.
