From: Zuzu Fassbinder The Postman Okay, I know what you're thinking. A Kevin Costner post-apocalyptic movie, but it was so over-the-top that I fell in love with it. A lot of the humor in the movie is poking fun at the genre, and I think it was intentional. I've been a big fan of the genre and so you have to keep your expectations low. David Brin's THE POSTMAN ranks with Niven and Pournelle's LUCIFER'S HAMMER as some of the best of the post-disaster genre. Kevin Costner's film effort was well done until the point where he seems to have ran out of money. Olivia Williams did a marvelous American accent. I enjoyed the film.

From: Tod69 Talamasca As long as I have my Cartoon Network, broadband, and the Internet, I dont care what happens Unless flesh-eating zombies appear in the equation. I'd be down for the flesh eating zombies, running along with my shotty sounds like a blast.

From: Kevn Klein England is tiny compared to the USA. I can drive across England on a single tank of gas.
The price of gas in England is cheaper than in the USA, but the British government piles it high with taxes. Blame the government for those high prices. Well the money has to come from somewhere - and high fuel prices DO make people use less - and pollute less. I don't like paying them, but... Er, what's the size of the UK got to do with fuel prices though? I mean, how often do you drive from coast to coast? How far do you need to drive? Why do you need to drive huge inefficent fuel guzzlers? It IS possible to have a decent size car (5 6ft adults and luggage with plenty of room, comfort and performance) and sensible fuel consumption (28mpg) , if the motivation's there.

I've known some people to literally get up in the morning to drive the diameter of England to get to and from work. Hell, I know some people who fly to work.
