They changed their name. It's "Neufreistadt" now. It's twenty bureaucrats, lawyers, and megalomaniacs in a sim ruling over three citizens, participating in governmental role playing, while religiously claiming that it is not role playing. Human nature always trumps politics. Egomania always overcomes altruism. The natural tendency to think “I know what's right, why won't those asshats listen to me?” will always overcome reason. The whole Nautlenburg fiasco is proof of what happens when you try to run a country by committee. Sure it all sounds all wonderful and noble and all that, but here in the real world it just doesn't work. I would think that communism has pretty much proved that over the last 50 years or so. Democracy, with all it's flaws, is pretty much the best we can hope for. |

In fact we're in the middle of an election campaign at the moment. The two main factions in the city just held a campaign debate tonight. Voting is from 15 to 21 July. And, contrary to the brickbats from our detractors, we are a strong community of 38 citizens now. We're just about to expand our territory with the purchase of a second sim. If you want to find out more, just ask one of us asshats, we're always happy to discuss our experiences as a democratic, self-governed community  And BTW my most offensive word of offense is 'fascist'. It's so badly misused (and overused) by people who really should know better; who should know what it really means and just how revolting it is to trivialise fascism by using it to label people they disagree with.
