You're coming out of Denny's, you notice the brickwork on the church across the street, and you catch yourself one breath away from saying aloud, "What a great texturing job!" (did that a few months ago) You're driving home from SLCC, you notice an overturned orange construction barrel with an octagonal base, and you keep waiting for it to snap from an octagon to a cylinder as you get closer. (did that last week) You're in a hotel, and you find yourself admiring the architecture because you have a thing for nice hotels, but you catch yourself thinking, "looks good, but way too prim-heavy". (also last week) You find yourself picturing the alpha channel for every flat, non-rectanglular object you see. (do that all the time) All of this, except it was Charlie Brown's not Denny's. The foliage was incredible ![]() _____________________

You ride by a piece of property and wonder how many prims it will support.....(this really happened...had to mentally slap myself...LOL)
You come to a stop sign and think of it as a "lighted" prim. Your family/friends show little interest in your SL adventures and you begin to feel isolated. You receive an invitation from Dr. Phil to be on his show..... _____________________

you know you've spent too much time in SL when you go out to a Club in "Real Life" to dance and you use some of the dance steps you learned in SL.

The fact that I dreamt the other night in Second Life isn't the oddity, everyone does that.
The oddity was that I received instant messages from myself, asking myself if I was talking to anyone. Yes. This happened. Feel free to make fun. |

"You Know You're Spending Too Much Time In SL..."

You feel a bit of resentment cuz you have to drive 20 miles to work instead of teleporting there....
When people in RL give you directions to their home you wonder why they don't just TP you or send you a landmark... You SL house is a dream home and your RL house has seven pots and pans on the kitchen floor to catch the rain..... _____________________

Well, you might want to turn your speakers down for this one, we don't want everyone to know about it now do we(especially the boss )Try this for the more discerning popper http://www.floridastuff.com/bubble/ or this : http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow.shtml or if your feeling completely "not right in the head" http://www.virtual-bubblewrap.com/popnow-insane.shtml A very satisfying and effective de-stressing tool ![]() Thanks to Sitearm Madonna for reminding me where I first posted these.........on some distant city-building forum far, far, far, away......... ![]() _____________________

You know you're spending too much time "in-world" when...
You begin to notice and appreciate the art present in everyday life. You mark sl meeting appointments in your rl calendar because they're important. You growl at your children when they ask to do homework on the sl computer. You lust for an sl-capable wireless laptop so you can sl in peace. You schedule your alarm for 3am local to meet in sl with your friend from overseas. The term "hypnagogic state" shifts from an abstraction to reality. _____________________

You know you're spending too much time in world when..........
RL doesn't make sense anymore. You'd rather go to bed in SL and wake up in SL. You get a better nights sleep in SL. (zzzzzzzz) You wish you had one of those Wet-Wired Johnny Pnemonic Brain Implant thingies, so's you can SL anywhere at anytime, without ever having the boss know what you're up to Your SL social life is more satisfying than your RL one. ![]() _____________________

You know you're spending too much time "in-world" when...
You begin to see where more art could be added in real life. (like at the license place office today lol!) You reach for your cell phone while driving home to tell one of your sl business partners about another idea you just had. You realize you've been "working" too hard in sl and you decide to spend Halloween Weekend partying at sl clubs. _____________________

You know you're spending too much time "in-world" when...
. you've had your first official "drama".. also your second.. and realize it's no biggie . you've made your first major Profile update (see above) . you learn to sleep in three-hour bursts to not waste those important midnight to 6 am times . an hour in sl seems like a week.. . a month in sl seems like a year hm.. would think of more just now but it's my turn to log in again... ![]() _____________________

At work we have an AO Smith waterheater. My first thought was that it would be hellish to lug that thinga round just for a smoother gait.
I find myself wishing for my digital camera everywhere i go ~ when i see cool textures i could use. I sleep three hours a night. The guys at work know all about the game, yet have never played. |
