It's Saturday morning here. The OTHER song is long gone.

The RL hubs has been out christmas shopping, and now he's home. Upon his arrival, I have been overtaken by a new song. The Nutcracker Suite. Sung by various stuffed animals thrown about the house:

Meoooow meow meow
meow meowww meow...

Woooof woof woof!

Meoooow meow meow
meow meowww meow...

Woooof woof woof!

I'm just a little touched in the head, I think. Perhaps I will feel better once I've had my biscuits and gravy...

Gorrillaz!

Magic for me
Magic make no sound
It good for me
It good for me underground

Magic on me
Really got me down
Invade the city
It make my heart beat no sound

Beat no sound
Beat no sound (ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Beat no sound
Beat no sound
Beat no sound (ooh ooh ooh ooh)

And let me tell myself
Tell on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on!!!

Magic for me
Magic get me through
We pledge it money
People seem to walk through you

Magic's funny
Magic get me through
All good for me
When people seem to always walk through you
Walk through you
Walk through you (ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Walk through you
Walk through you
Walk through you (ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Walk through you
Walk through you

And let me tell myself
Tell on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on

She made me kill myself
Come on
Come on

She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on

i am cursed by three songs...

who needs sleep?
well your never gonna get it
who needs sleep?
tell me whats that for?
who needs sleep?
well your never gonna get it
theres guys thats been awake
since the second world war
---------

i loved you more
than i did the week b4
i discovered alcohol

would you please ignore
that you found me on the floor
trying on your pant hoes
------------

AMERICA!!!
F*CK YEAH!!!
------------

dunno why the 2 bare naked ladies songs - i lost that cd roughly 2 years ago, the song from team america - world police is stuck in my head cause since download festival ( www.downloadfestival.co.uk - been to the 3 download festivals there and the ozzfest b4 it, oh and the infamous 'leeds' festival aswell when GnR did actually turn up to a gig and on the last day there was a riot (seperate instances - same festival)) i keep remembering the random people just walkin past each other and one would say AMERICA!!! and the other would say F*CK YEAH!!!

also cause the crowd chanted it during the SOAD set and i think even the band started saying it (canna remember that bit 2 well, due to a mistimed mushroom or 6)

dammit now i just got billy idol 'mony mony' stuck in my head aswell
oh well its BILLY F*CKING IDOL! :D

Donna Summer...

I need you, by me,
Beside me, to guide me,
To hold me, to scold me...

Let's dance, the last dance
Let's dance, this last dance tonight...

I'm your only friend
I'm not your only friend
But I'm a little glowing friend
But really I'm not actually your friend
But I am

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch
Who watches over you
Make a little birdhouse in your soul
Not to put too fine a point on it
Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet
Make a little birdhouse in your soul

<hugs Mal for TMBG> :D

At the moment . . . Robert Earl Keen's "I'm Comin' Home." That sucker has been stuck in my head for four days now (well, just the chours). Arrrrrggggghhhh.

Packed my suitcase and I racked my brain
Bought a ticket on a late night train
Took a taxi through the pourin' rain
I'm comin' home to you

Flew from Boston out to San Jose
Saw our old friends in Monterey Bay
When they asked me if I'd like to stay
I said I'm comin' home to you

CHORUS:
I'm comin' home
Made up my mind that's what I'm gonna do
Can't love nobody on the telephone
I'm comin' home to you

They threw a party there from dusk 'till dawn
Seems like everybody knows old sleepy John
He said next time I better bring you along
I'm comin' home to you

They had fresh caught salmon on the bareques
There were people jammin' all night to the blues
Life is good out in Santa Cruz but
I'm comin' home to you

CHORUS

I drove forever out to God knows where
Come ten-thirty there was no one there
They couldn't pay me but I didn't care
I'm comin' home to you

I'm feelin' better since I got your card
I read it over and over when the road gets hard
Ain't nothin' better than your own backyard
I'm comin' home to you

CHORUS x 2

Packed my suitcase and I racked my brain
Bought a ticket on the late night train
Took a taxi in the pourin' rain...…

Today it's Gwen Stephanie's "Holla Back Girl" yet again. As it often does, the song begins rattling around in the back of my head for no real reason early in the morning, and by noon it's decayed entirely to "This Sh!t is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s, this sh!t is bananas, b-a-n-a-n-a-s" playing OVER and over again with an occasional bridge back to trombone/trumpet music...

Alegria by Cirque de Soleil, which is not a good thing as I have a great deal of psychological trauma associated with memories of that song. It's a beautiful song, but it touches me in ways that it shouldn't.

Hehe's that's a cool version! I don't remember it sounding that good on my old AdLib soundcard.. ~_^ Michael Land was a vidgame music genius, along with Kenneth Arnold (old Ultima games). If you're down with the Monkey, then you might enjoy this MI remix by AmIEvil.

That song always plays in my head like:

"Sh*t it's bananas..."

And I think to myself, someone isn't happy with their sack lunch...

Gorrillaz!

She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
Come on
She turned my dad on
She turned my dad on
Dad on
Dad on

omg, i was just listening to that, lol... now i'm a couple tracks down the list.

New Genious - Gorillaz

Yeah, dream on, my world...
I live on my world...
Goin' out my head down to somewhere,
Goin' on the best of June.

And the pressure today,
I'm gonna burn mine away today...
Had to go, had to be done...
I put the man away.

Brother, sister too,
Do what you must do,
Don't trust people you meet;
They might promise you
That the river ain't deep.

Her mind is sweet...
It'll pass on through me...
Where my brain, oh my heart babe,
Gonna bring it all too.

(She walked out tomorrow...)
Brother, sister too,
(Like a corner, yeah...)
Do what you must do,
Don't trust people you meet;
They might promise you
That the river ain't deep.

(She walked out tomorrow...)
Brother, sister too,
(Like a corner, yeah...)
Do what you must do,
Don't trust people you meet;
They might promise you
That the river ain't deep.

Brother, sister too,
Do what you ought to do,
They say the river ain't deep,
But it's in the dark...
The river ain't deep.
The river ain't deep.
The river ain't deep.

- and that's a pretty accurate of my current cynical mental state of being, lol!! :)

(semi-ranting complaint... i never know whether the lyrics from some 'lyrics' site are accurate or not; i re-listen to the song and modify it myself as best as i can interpret myself... but some lines in that song, i just can't understand! lol... i'm one of those who have trouble telling what the words are when they're sung.)

Song of the Woodpecker - Billy Mitchell (1949) http://www.immortalia.com/html/records-and-cds/78s/blue-records/the-woodpecker-song.htm

Caught this bird in the neighborhood
Pecking away on a piece of wood
He pecked and he pecked on my front door
Pecked 'til he made his pecker sore.

Sore pecker, pecker sore, sore pecker,
Bad luck bird

Now the woodpecker is this little bird's name
When he start's a-peckin' it is a shame
In my neighborhood he's boss
Because his pecker don't get soft.

Soft pecker, pecker soft, soft pecker,
He's a lovely little bird.

He's the nuttiest bird you ever did see
He'll take a chance on any old tree
The other day he was pecking in an oak
Made a few strokes and his pecker broke.

Broke pecker, pecker broken, broke pecker,
Bad luck bird.

This bird got in an argument the other day
He got mad and few away
He lit on top of a telephone line
Hollered "Your pecker ain't as long as mine!"

Long pecker, pecker long, pecker long,
He's a lovely little bird.

Now if I ask you on bended knees
Will you tell me something please
Peck all day in my back yard
What do you use to keep your pecker hard?

Hard pecker, pecker hard, hard pecker,
He's a lovely little bird

Now listen little birdie you ain't so smart
you're just a little old lark
Something I'm telling you to remember
When you get old your pecker's going to get limber.

Limber pecker, pecker limber, limber pecker
The woodpecker song!

Half the time lately its the beat for:

The Roots - "Guns Are Drawn"

The other half its:

Radiohead - "Pyramid Song"

I have no idea why.
