I did! Tasted like BBQ flavored popcorn. A bit dry though, and they tend to stick in yer throat. It's a pity they're freeze-dried cuz all that's left is a shell. BTW- if you notice, the whole package is only 9 calories, which is good to know if yer on a diet!!

No, no, I wouldn't. Bugs are off my menu unless I stand to earn big bucks for it.

Someone please tell me why it's called "Fear Factor." More often than not, it seems to be more "gross factor" than anything. Of course people don't want to eat raw bull testicles - it's GROSS!!!

yes I totally would. bugs are a great source of protein, and I've eaten a few kinds. now if they didn't taste good to me, I would stop eating them, unless of course I was hungry and didn't have anything else availabe.

You probably ate some insects today.... How many insects did you have for breakfast this morning? The answer may surprise you! Despite advances in pest control technology, it is still not possible to exclude all insects from our food supply. Most agricultural products are already contaminated with insects (or insect products) when they are harvested, and still more gain access during storage. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has adopted Grade Standards designed to protect American consumers from inferior agricultural products. The standards set legal limits for spoilage or contamination due to insects and other agents. The highest grade is "U.S. No. 1". In order to qualify as U.S. No. 1 Grade, the commodities listed below cannot exceed the following limits of contamination: Ketchup -- 30 fruit fly eggs per 100 grams Canned corn -- 2 insect larvae per 100 grams Blueberries -- 2 maggots per 100 berries Peanut butter -- 50 insect fragments per 100 grams Curry powder -- 100 insect fragments per 100 grams Wheat -- 1% of grains infested Sesame seed -- 5% of seeds infested Coffee -- 10% of beans infested Have some more ketchup with your fries! source

Cicadas are indeed delish!! Tastes like almonds a bit. But they scream when you bite them. I'll pass on the larvae however.

Or just an eating machine? There's some crap on Fear Factor that would be a delicacy in some countries, but the show prolly makes it even worse.... pig testicles fer instance. Maybe fried in dough wouldn't be bad, but they like to make it worse by liquifying them. Bleh! My Dad loves that show! I'm annoyed by it. If yer 2000 feet in the air, walking a tightrope and harnessed to a crane, WHY would you be afraid? Get rid of the safety equipment!!!!

I wouldn't mind. That certainly looks better than some of our delicacies here like 'balut' which is basically hard boiled duck's egg where the embryo is partially formed. So it's not unusual to spit a beak or a feather or two eating this. We also have 'dinuguan' which is stewed pork's blood. Yummy.

Before the existence of animal cruelty laws in our country (which is loosely upheld even now), dogs, cats, snakes are part of the menu. Dogs and cats are cooked stewed, although I forgot how they prepared snakes. From: Joy Honey sounds almost as appetizing as chitlins I'll regret this but what's 'chitlins'?

Sorry about this, these are considered a delicacy where I come from (no, I've never tried them myself, just the thought kinda grossed me out and I will try almost any food ) Chitterlings or chit'lins are the intestines of young pigs, cleaned and stewed and then frequently battered and fried.

That sounds like 'chicharon bulaklak' usually chicharon is pigfat deepfried but another type of that is using intestines. When it's cooked it sort of opens up like a flower (bulaklak means flower in my language) tastes good either way. We do have another form of cooking that involved pig intestines. The pig is fattened up, feeding it with a special meal with meat (don't ask), veggies, spices etc. Wait for a few hours, butcher the pig, get intestines, tie the ends up and cook. No I will never eat this, give me the larvae but i will never eat this in a million years.

Ok, I'd have to pass on the duck eggs... seen that one before.
Still, Chitlins is on my list of things to try. Cats & Dog & Snakes wouldn't bother me either. It's not like you take yer pet of 10 yrs and eat it.
