If you want to know what a real lesbian looks like, more so a gun-toting one, I found a pic for you.

What you see is what you get. No possibility of false claims. No guesswork.

WARNING: SWALLOW THAT MOUNTAIN DEW BEFORE LOOKING AT THE PIC.

I realise that you are looking at this from an iconic perspective - but do you find it that easy to ignore what guns do to people?

Certainly they're looking at it iconically only. Me, just poking a bit of fun here and there (except for my first post). From what I know women with guns is purely a visual appeal thing and has nothing to do with them actually using the guns. It's the look that sells. All the woman has to do is pose with the guns.

Let's not make this a thread about gun loving vs gun hating. Guns don't kill people ... people do, and they do so with anything from bare fists to the kitchen sink.

No one is encouraging ill-behavior so just let them have their fun.

Nooo... lesbians aren't all that much fun in my experiece, they out-manly most men I know and usually have a deer rifle in their pick-up's rear window anyway. Bisexual, gun toting fems are hot and a lot more fun!

This is a gross overgeneralization, similar to the erroneous notion that all gay men are prissy, flaming and feminine.

There are all types out there. ;)

Next can we find out why they always carry knives and swords in Yaoi?

I have the (semi-serious) answer to that one: It's because they do so just about everywhere else! (context Manga and Anime).

Real serious answer: You'll have to ask the yaoi creators who are almost exclusively women, and the readers who are young ladies (yaoi's target audience).

OT but connected to the above, has anyone made a "shojo mallet" object-animation combo?

After getting beaten with the butt of a shotgun last winter during an attempted home invasion by a couple of amateur thug wannabes, I'll tell you what guns do to people: They give us the opportunity to shoot the bastards in the head when they try it again.

Guns didn't make the thug boys come visit our house; I've got lots of friends who have guns. They've never tried to rob people at gun point. If you eliminate gun ownership before you eliminate crime, all you get is criminals with guns and victims who are unarmed.

Make gun ownership as difficult as driving and car ownership. Licenses and insurance fees. Make sure there's a test to get the license that's at least as difficult as a driver's license. Make it a crime to use or have a gun without a license or insurance.

But don't make it illegal for legal folks to own guns. The criminals are already breaking the laws; do you seriously think they'd stop because guns are illegal?

Yes, but gross overgeneralizations are usually funnier.

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." -- Thomas Jefferson

Well, gee, I sure hope the government never turns to tyranny since we've just fallen all over ourselves over the years in our eagerness to surrender our right to be individually empowered. ;)

Good thing that'll never happen, huh?

Yes, it can be if used in a humorus context much like this thread.

As a guy who likes girls, a lesbian with a gun is not really a tun on. Think about it, a true lesbian is not interested in males and is likely to use the gun on a guy who might glance thier way... as a straight male, lesbians with guns scare me. Bisexual women with guns, now there is something sexy and much less likely to castrate me with a high velocity projectile if I were to say, "My, what a beautiful Glock you have there." At least until they get to know me better.

LMAO ... yes, I'm intimately aware of all of this, except that honestly, Kathmandu, anyone who shoots you for glancing her way is a psychopath no matter her orientation. It's when men can't seem to accept the lack of interest and keep pushing that problems arise.

Anyway, all I'm saying is that stereotypes are usually only funny when you're not the one being stereotyped. ;)

I would think that straight women would be more likely to shoot at men than lesbians anyway. Lesbians would have less of a motive ;)

Hmmm...

I always figured that some guys like the image of a woman w/a gun due to the phallic symbology of the gun ='ing their phallus, giving them a vicarious thrill of being (man/woman)handled by the aforementioned hottie.

Then again, these fellers might like a lil death and danger w/their sex symbols.

However, if one were to replace the gun in hand w/another weapon, I think the appeal would hold. What I wonder is if the weapon were swapped out for say, a sceptre of office or other symbolic object (phallic or not) of power, would the image be as appealing?

I must note that the images presented by the Lo are of women who would be hot clad in a business suit w/nothing or really anything in their hands! YUM!

Don't ruin it with logic!

I have seen too much anime, and now a woman with a gun makes me think "deranged schoolgirl".

I'm not saying that all women that carry guns are lesbians, but if a woman is a lesbian, there is a good chance she is carrying a gun.:)
