First off, I love my country and I am a veteran of our armed forces, are you? Illegal invasion? I'm quite happy with the Presidents doctrine of first strike. If it were illegal the house and senate would have done something. I'm sure you believe Iran is seeking nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.  And a quick search of your posts only shows a person who berates her country and president. A patriot by definition is "one who loves his or her country AND supports its authority and interests". why can't you wait for that? Iran has a very young, highly educated youth base which greatly outnumbers the aging but ruling parties. President Ahmadinejad is actually an exception, being somewhat young (a baby boomer). The only thing Iran needs to really grow freely is regime change. Syria is also on the list for invasion. But it's not A>B, because A, the "pre-emptive strine on Iran" has a multitude of expected (increased hatred of the U.S. by predominantly Muslim countries, for example) and incalcuable (will this lead to a civil war in the country? Will be be bogged down for a decade? etc) consequences, almost all of them with an end result of more people getting killed. For a veteran, I find your 'chomping at the bit' to get into another war to be highly disrespectful to the men and women currently serving. And to answer the possible upcoming question, yes, I'm a veteran too.
