Child Support vs. SL: Redux

I was amused at a post in General questioning why someone would complain about not having enough money to support a child / children but spend money and/or time in SL. I'm less questioning the time, since everyone needs some relaxation time, but yeah...
(Assuming SL is a negative money flow for the person, if it's a side job, then that's a good thing, right?)

Anyway, the poll I'm posting is to see what things are okay to spend money on before paying child support / paying for children's needs in the absense of child support (or dead-beat parent not paying.)

EDIT: I'm stupid. It should have been things *not* to spend money on. But I'm a ditz today, apparently. So, if none of the above, just post below.

How about, none of those things are as important as helping to take care of a life they created...

I bet those who defend these expenditures, or prehaps reply with personal insults directed at lawyers who make a joke, are those who are guilty of this kind of neglect.

You know, when you dont like the message attack the messenger because you aint got the smarts to do otherwise....opps what a stupid ivy league lawyer I must be for using that humerous language. But the bright bulbs got the message!

People have to have priorities when it comes to children. They must come first, before internet, before entertainment, before all. I question the motives of anyone who disagrees.

Oh goody, another flame bait poll.

Stuff that could possibly come before child support or any other back dept (IMHO):

- Car payment. Reasonable car. No exotics or monsters trucks or crap like that.
- Rent, house payment, utilities
- Food
- Insurance
- Shit you used to earn a living with, computers, clothes, tools, whatever
- High Speed internet if it's used to generate substantial income.
- Tuition, maybe.

Shit that should not come first:
- Cable TV
- Toys like boats or motorcycles
- Vacation trips, unless it's for the kids
- Online gaming, unless it makes a substantial income
- Gambling in any form
- Cigarettes or booze
- Pot, coke, smack, crank

Every case is different. This same list could apply to anybody that is strapped for cash.

It is still my belief that parents who owe child support should not be locked up. This contradicts most sate laws but alot of stuff I do and believe in does.

I question why it's any of your business, especially in a forum for a game.
Pontificate all you want, you don't know jack about anybody here. Do you prepare your briefs with that spell checker ? Just asking.

OMG isn't there anything better to talk about??? Hasn't this come up a few times already? There ARE other ways to support a child other than money you know, so please, for everybody, give it a rest!
