Seriously now lets give Atheists who attack Christians a break for a while and talk about something a bit more...shall we say... current.

Ok this is why the whole thing is funny to me:

Hamas kidnaps one Israeli solider = Israel attacks Gaza

Hezzbolah kidnaps two Israeli soliders =Israel attacks Lebanon

Im sensing a patten here. I mean what did Hezzbolah think Israel would do something different if they got two prisoners instead of one? Ah well doesnt matter anyway. Israel is gonna give em hell and then send them there. This war as been long in coming and Israel has finally run out of patience. If Syria and Iran get involved then we can finally just go ahead and tell the UN where to stick it and get back to fighting wars the way they were meant to be fought...without the input of a peanut gallery.

They're no better than Hitler's Nazi goons.

I don't see what your point is about letting ANYONE get away with genocide thank you very much. But of course, ya'll want us to drag us into ww3. Woohoo go for it. I hope the UN slaps a heavy price on your Israeli friends.

Gah where do you people come from. You know I really do hope the UN screws itself over trying to stop this one. Maybe then people will wake up and realize that the UN does not stop wars, they make them worse. Human beings are war like creatures by nature. We excel at our ability to destroy each other. In order to keep us from wiping each other out, God has made it so that we fear our own capabilities for destruction and that is the only reason that humanity still exists.

However wars are a necessary part of history. An organization like the UN serves only to hold off a war so that when it does come it is even more bloody than it would have been had the UN just kept its nose out of other peoples business. They say the United Nations exists to promote mutual understanding among the peoples of the world but this is an idealist fantasy at best. The fact of the matter is, human beings as a species do not want to understand each other. Our minds are constructed so that we believe that we are right and anyone who disagrees with us is wrong.

Anyway you look at it, human society is almost ideal for war. We fear both it and the absence of it and thus history is an endless waltz (eat your heart out Gundam fans ^_^) of peace, war, and revolution. We shall continue along this path until the end of time. To deny this is to deny humanity itself and will only serve to make the inevitable more horrific.

To all those who dream of absolute world peace and yet do not believe in the existance of God, I say that you unwittingly crave the extinction of mankind. This is the only way for mankind to enshure permanent world peace without depending on God. If there are no people left to fight wars then there shall be no war. Any other method that is used will only establish a temporary peace.

I am not a warmonger or a peacemonger. As the Greeks said, everything must be done in moderation. Too much war is bad because it obviously destroy lives and civilizations from without. However too much peace is also dangerous because it breeds those who cannot live without war, they will in turn insight others to join them and cause violence until war is restored. The act of war between humans serves in a way to reaffirm who we are as human beings and shows us that there is such a thing as right and wrong but in the case of most wars, both sides are wrong. (There are many wrongs but only one right.) Yet if peace is prelonged then society begins to decay as human values and creates a society with such flawed beliefs as we have today.

No more excuses. Israel is just as pathetic is the rest of them. Make all the excuses you want. The world's had enough of Israel's cry baby attitude and start playing the diplomacy card. Israel has lost its support from me and has for the longest time.

It really doesnt matter if you like Israel or not but no one can call them a "cry baby" and still have any credibility. Because if you think Israel is a cry baby you havnt been looking close enough at the situation. Israel almost never runs and cries to the United Nations when the Palestinians attack them which used to happen on a daily basis. Instead Israel has all but written off the UN by now and since the 90s they simply follow up a Palestinian attack with an attack of their own.

Their current actions are simply what they have wanted to do, and should have done a good while ago which is wreak all out havoc on terrorist in the entire region. Even as I write this Israel is on a major military operation that was announce by Prime Minister Olmert. The plan in a nutshell calls for the all out destruction of all Hezbollah installations, bases, and even residents. Many people will die but Israel has had all it can stand and Im suprised they have waited this long.

Israel's cry baby attitude? Can you imagine how you'd feel if your country was under attack by maniacs attacking schools, blowing up bombs, and firing missiles at whatever they can hit? Israel has a right to not be attacked by terrorists, no matter what the history of the creation of the country was (who gives a shit anymore). Are they supposed to just ignore such attacks and hope they just go away? hahahaha

So what's your excuse for the terrorist groups attacking Israel?

Meanwhile the EU and Russia are condemning Israel, and France is complaining that their response is "disproportionate". What the hell are they supposed to do, fire only one missile back when they get one fired at them? Capture only two terrorists when they have two soldiers captured? Who's damn side are they on, anyway? Disproportionate response... give me a break, this is insanity. What is France's "proportionate" and appropriate response then, raise a white flag?

"Oh well, it's just Jews getting blown up anyway, who cares. But those extremist Muslims, damn, they don't deserve that kind of treatment!"

So what would be an appropriate response for Israel to take at this point? If anyone here knows, please call them right away and let them know how they can solve the mideast crisis.

It's unsettling to see somebody so excited at the prospect of a regional war in the Middle East. Why is it I have the feeling that when she says "we" she doesn't include herself?

Im about as excited at the idea of regional warfare in the middle east as you are seeing the sun rise in the morning. Its something that is supposed to happen so when it does happen you are not excited you just acknowledge it and move on. The middle east is one of those areas that doesnt do well with diplomacy. The people there by their culture and unbringing understand and respond better to force. In the west we see Israel's pullout of Gaza back a few months ago as a movement of goodwill by the Israelis and of course thought that the Palestinians should be at least a little grateful. But in the Middle Eastern culture, Israel's withdraw was seen as a sign of weakness and so attacks against Israel escalated for this reason and because in the terrorist's minds, we can assume at least, their tactics were working because Israel had been force to retreat from Gaza.

This war that is coming is necessary to determine the furture of the middle east. The terrorist are making their last stand. They lost in Afghanistan, they are losing in Iraq. All over the world the terrorist organizations are losing members, supporters and allies. Now the last few states that support terror in the middle east; the Palestinians (who I realize are not technically a state) Lebanon (which is still heavily influenced by...), Syria (who has an alliance with...), and Iran are likely to face off with Israel and maybe the US and colalition troops. The worst possible thing would be for the UN to step in and delay this war. That would give the terrorist a chance to regroup. Their members want this battle, but the leaders know better. They cannot win in open warfare and that is what is about to unfold.

Now then: "We" is used to refer to both me and those around me.

God I hate it when some fool compares Israel to the Nazis. It shows such a huge lack of education it's almost scary. Do you even know what "genocide" means? Let's see what happened here. Hamas, the party that is in power in the Palestinian Authority, kidnaps an Israeli soldier. Israel responds militarily. Then Hezbullah, a party that is part of the Lebanese government kidnaps two more and Israel responds militarily. And you call this genocide? You compare it to the Nazis? What a crock of shit.

Genocide is the attempted elimination of an entire ethnic group. Is it really your contention that Israel is attempting to eliminate all Arabs? Has Israel rounded up Arabs and sent them to concentration camps to be systematically murdered? No. In fact, Arabs in Israel have had the vote since the founding of the country. There are Arab members of the Knesset. Arabic is co-official with Hebrew in Israel. Does that sound like "genocide"? Were there Jews elected to the Reichstag in Nazi Germany? Was Hebrew co-official with German?

If you don't like how Israel is responding to events, fine. But when you fall into the "Israel = Nazi" nonsense you do yourself a huge disservice. Read a little history. It was the Arabs who supported the Nazis. The Grand Mufti was Hitler's guest in Berlin more than once. When you compare the Israelis to the Nazis all it shows it that the only thing you really know about the history of Israel or the Jews is World War II.

The Israeli's opponents don't learn, that's why -- first, the Egyptians lost the 6-day war, then the Lebanese/Syrians/Iranians got their butts kicked, then the Golan Heights crisis was a slam-dunk, then the Uganda kidnap crisis, which resulted in a lightning strike by the Israeli air force on the plane, death of all the hijackers, and rescue of the Israeli citizens. The Israelis are not screwing around, and they mean it when they say they won't tolerate this sh*t. The Palestinians are damn lucky they got a chunk of land to play at being their own country (Gaza), and now it looks as tho Israel may kick their butts into the Med and take it back, which will suit the anti-Iraeli folks just fine, 'cause then they can play "aggrieved martyr" again.

Read some history. The Middle East is no more prone to warfare than any other area of the Old World. In fact, there have been longer periods of peace in the Middle East than Europe has seen since the fall of the Roman Empire. While you're at it read the history of the current Iraq war. As a matter of fact, that war hasn't eliminated terrorist groups, it has created them. A conventional war won't kill off the terrorists. It will create a bigger breeding ground for them. Just as it has in Iraq and just as is beginning to happen in Afghanistan.

Where do you get this garbage, liberal media no doubt. You are right about one thing; the Middle East was much more peaceful than the western world...hundreds of years ago. Now it is just the opposite. Todays Middle Eastern world understands force much more than they do diplomacy. It is something they have learned and added to their culture since World War I and especially after World War II. Also never insult my knowledge of history, particularly war history, again. Just a friendly warning. ^_^

As for the Iraq war...being wrong doesnt seem to matter to you or you would stop once in a while. The facts are that the reason the terrorist have flocked to Iraq is to try and keep it from stabilizing. Terror thrives where people are unhappy. If people are well fed, clothed, make enough money to live with some left over, and have a place to live, they typically dont become terrorists. Terrorists are typically those who have nothing left to live for in this world so they do everything they can to try and change it to a world where they feel that life would be better for them. Terrorism does not thrive in stable countries. Thus as Iraq becomes more and more stable as it has and will continue to do (Sorry to shatter your world with that statement but if I told you otherwise I would be lying) then the terrorists will have to find new places to spawn.

The War on Terror is a real war, our strategy is to stabilize the countries where terrorists breed. I dont care what the UN, EU, or even the Bush Administration says, that is our strategy though it would not be politcally proper for us to announce it. Weapons of Mass destruction or not I really dont care. We needed an excuse to remove Sadaam and Stabilize Iraq and we got it. Israel got its excuse to wreak havoc upon Gaza and Lebanon when Hamas and Hezzbolah abducted their soliders. Currently North Korea, and Iran need only to give the world a reason and they too will meet the same fate as Afghanistan and Iraq. The fact is the world did not change after 9/11 but our attitudes about it did. It is no longer safe or reasonable to allow terrorism to exist. It is something which we must and will eliminate no matter how long it may take us or no matter how much we have to bloody our hands to do it. Libya is perhaps the only country to get it in the Middle East. After Iraq they realized what we intended to do and decided to give up their nuclear weapons program. Thats why you dont hear about Libya anymore.

Like someone else on this board said. We are ticked and we really arent going to tolerate any more crap. Well I hope the UN is happy. Had they allowed earlier conflicts to degenerate into wars, the smaller wars would relieve pressure in their respective areas. But now wars that should have occured never took place and the pressure has built up for years. Im afraid we are heading towards an even more horrible confrontation than we would have had if only we had fought our battles back then and not been so damn politically correct. But it can get much worse if we do not fight this war here and now. The longer we wait the more pressure will build, the more tensions will rise, and the more blood will be spilled when the war finally does come.
