Hello all,
What is the strangest supernatural thing that has ever happened to you?
The strangest thing that has ever happened to me would have to be when I saw an indoor hammock swinging by itself, then it stopped up in mid-air for a few seconds, then started swinging again.
That was weird!

One time about 8 years ago, I walked around all day feeling like something was holding onto my neck. Later that night, I had bruises on my neck that a friend noticed.
Um, at like 15, I had a weird dream where I was choking, and someone yelled no and pulled whatever was choking off of me. When I woke up, a deflated Mylar balloon that had been buried under my bed was on my bed, with the ribbon draped across my neck.

I have had more unexplainable experiences happen to me and my family than I want to admit. The ghost that has been at my Parents house since I was younger is very mischievous and me and my mom think it is a little boy. It followed me to my apartment when I moved out but has gone back to my Mom's house. She lives alone so there is no one else that could do the things that have been done. Some of the weirdest things that have happened and still do are:
*Car keys have a tendencey to end up in the refrigerator or other very strange areas such as the silverware drawer and in the bottom of a candy dish.
*Sometimes when my mom does laundry, she will go in to check on the dryer and the clothes have been taken out and thrown all over the laundry room. After this happened several times she started taping it shut, it didn't work.
*Random things that are always in a certain spot are moved to other areas of the room or house.
*The sound of the refrigerator opening and cupboard doors opening can be heard from the other room, and when she goes in to check, she doesn't see anything.
*Doors that were open are closed and vice versa.
*The tv will sometimes switch to cartoons on its own.
*Before my Dad died of cancer a few years ago, he had went up into the attic because they could hear something 'running' around up there. When he went up to check it out, all my old toys that were in storage had been strewn all over the attic. Some of my old stuffed animals had actually been set up in a circle by each other like someone had been playing. Some stuff was in garbage bags and the bags had not been torn up like an animal had gotten to them, they had been neatly opened. It doesn't seem to like my old Barbies tho, they were left in the bags.
There are other things that happen and still do but these are the ones that really freak me out the most.

It sounds like The Littles. Maybe Binky was trying to find parts to repair his airplane.

I had a dream where a bunch of irrational people came together in a forum and reinforced their superstitious beliefs with unverifiable anecdotes. Isn't that weird?

One of the strangest things that ever happened to me happend with my oldest daughter when she was very small. She only talked in 1-3 word sentences.....Mommy, i hungry....More, Mommy, More....etc....i heard a noise in her bedroom one night and got up and found her sitting up in her bed...i said "Child, what's the matter?" She replied..."Mommy, Teresa is in my room and she wont leave me alone, I am sleepy and she keeps bothering me!" Now, i dont know about you guys but that kinda got me.....i went over to tuck her in...and the room was ice cold.....now say what you will, but ice cold rooms dont happen in Republica de Panama, Central America in a home without air conditioning!!! I dont care what time of night it is. I grabbed my daughter and put her in bed with her Father and me and laid awake the rest of the night...talk about spooky.....

Beh, I dunno if this classify's as a supernatural thing, though last year I decided to watch some webcams of so called haunted places, I was watching the Willard library basement with a can of coke, then I saw this guy, looked like a janitor, he was walking, everything seemed normal, until he started walking on the celing >_< actualy I did take a still picture, though I'm very open to the fact that it could have been a camera glitch, or some stupid kid span the camera upside down, Heres the picture I snagged, not much proof, but it is the thing I saw, if I knew then what I known now I woulda turned it into a GIF movie and made it my avatar, Not very good resolution I must say because of the fact that i'm too lazy to use anything on it,

Sometimes I find myself in a parallel universe where what I have remembered is not what everyone else says happened. Is it my memory, which usually doesn't rez as a phantom?

That is a very clearly not a man. It is a woman carrying a purse (that is entirely too big) and a styrofoam lunch container. The spookiest part of that picture is the outfit.

The spookiest part of that picture is the outfit. I see an engineer carrying a mailing tube (full of plans to remodel?) and a black metal lunch pail, the old school kind that construction workers carry.

If you don't have any interest in this post then that is fine, but it is not that fair to call those that do 'irrational'. I was only trying to interact with people who might have had some unexplained strange events in their lives. To everyone else that submitted interesting stories - wow, those are spooky. The one with the washing machine opening and keys disappearing, that is weird. Can you think of any explanations that may not be 'spirit' linked?

Ahh! That's so freaky, you guys! :x
Okay real quick because I don't like talking about it - A while back I was over at my grandmothers house watching some TV, I was in the kitchen watching it because I didn't wanna spill anything in the living room (You know how grandmothers are) I set my drink down on the table and continue to watch TV, no more than 30 seconds later I see something moving in the corner of my eye, I look over and my drink was sliding across the table, At first I thought maybe something like the air conditioner or fan was blowing it, but the drink was full and nothing was on. After about 10 seconds of watching it in shock, I picked it up and ran over to sit in the living room, I didn't look back once. I didn't mention it to anyone until the next morning, I was too scared to even think about it. I didn't sleep very well that night.

I was only trying to interact with people who might have had some unexplained strange events in their lives. I thought it was funny. The strangest experience I've had was something I saw in the sky. One night while standing in my driveway I saw three evenly spaced lights rise over the horizon, traveling at the speed an airplane would but making no sound. At first I thought they might be landing lights. They'd have been the right scale. The lights looked like bright stars. I watched them go from the horizon to directly overhead. When they were above me the two outside lights split off at right angles with no change in velocity. They just instantly started going due east and due west. The center light continued due north until all three vanished over the horizon. The whole thing lasted maybe 1-2 minutes. Very weird!

~Ulrika~ While this is a bit funny because of the method of response, it also strikes me as judgemental. To say that something is unexplained isn't to say it didn't occur. Many things that once might have been regarded as superstitious beliefs are now regarded as known phenomena. We do not have the science to know all that can be known. This does not mean that what we cannot explain does not exist. To label someone who experiences something that is unexplained as irrational seems... well...irrational. A person can be perfectly rational and not be able to account for the cause of something. In fact, the unwillingness to jump to conclusions is the core of rationality, so to say that something is unexplained is perfectly reasonable and rational when one cannot prove causality. (Now for some wierdness!) I once rented an apartment that was the site of some odd occurances that I couldn't explain. One thing was that I would hear a sound that reminded me of fingers snapping. The sound would be repeated and would seem to originate from different points in the room. Once, while I was taking a bath (no windows open and no airconditioner on) the door of the bathroom swung forcefully and stopped precisely so that the mirror of the door reflected me. What strikes me as the most dramatic encounter follows. I woke from the sensation of something depressing the corner of the bed. I had assumed this was my cat jumping from the window ledge, until I realized that she was asleep under my arm. I opened my eyes and a very large vision of something resembling a person was at the foot of my bed with one 'knee' depressing it. I was fully awake (I sleep rather lightly) and absolutely sure that this is a waking memory and not a dream. I've not experienced any difficulty discerning dreams and reality before or since. What I saw faded over 5 seconds time, beginning with the facial features, and I had the sense of the room growing darker as it faded until the peripheral vision of the alarm clock seemed to be the only light in the room (as it normally was). I looked at the clock and it was a few minutes after 1am. I waited for something else to happen, but nothing did, so I rolled over onto my left hand shoulder (careful not to wake the cat who slept through the whole thing--contrary to the belief of cats being supernaturally sensitive) and no sooner was I settled in on my left hand side than what felt like a large finger poked me forcefully in the back of my right upper arm (something, anyway, with the approximate radius of a half inch to an inch impacted my arm forcefully enough to send my arm flying forward, jostling my torso). At this point I became frightened and sat up in bed and, instinctively, envisioned a ball of light originating from me and exploding outward, accompanied by the thought "Go Away!" as forcefully as I could muster. I turned on my lamp and slept with the light on for about three months, but didn't experience anything but occasional clicking after that. I have resisted the temptation to draw conclusions about what it was that visited me or what I experienced, but years later I was in new york, getting dressed and had the tv droning on in the background (some educational channel) and then by happenstance, heard a description that uncannily matched my experience that night in Virginia. I walked into the livingroom and it turned out to be a program on St. Theresa's visitation (in her bed, at night) by whom she believed to be Gabriel. The program was looking at her experience from a metaphorical perspective rather than a literal one, but nonetheless the narrator had quoted the description of that event and therefore included a description of what she saw and felt. Though I can't say that the event made me religiously devout, I can say that I am certain, now, that there is more in the world than what I thought there was, and I experience a sense that (for want of a better word) god exists. Perhaps the existence of faith in and of itself is irrational? But one could also say that the absence of credulity in things that cannot be proven (in the face of so many proofs of things that were once unproven) is equally irrational.
