U2 is boring

In regards to new stuff, here's something that caught my ear lately -

I can't decide if they are the most original, or the most formulaic thing I've ever heard.

Yes and they've ben gracious enough to not release any new albums, lately. That gives some of these up-and-coming metal bands a chance at getting a Grammy.

I lost interest after Achtung Baby. After that they never really seemed to reinvent themselves.

I have both Greatest Hits albums as well as The Unforgettable Fire, All that You Can't Leave Behind and How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. I agree that post-Achtung U2 lost it's sense of self, but I think they've come back into their own with the last two albums. Anyway, I'm a die-hard U2 fan and always will be. It must be that Scotch-Irish blood in me from my mother's side.

"Boy" was a great album. I Will Follow still makes me to this day want to jump up from my chair and run somewhere really fast. But that was oh so many years ago.
