I'd retort with, 'Next time you're in a hotel, take or destroy the The Origin of Species ,' but dammit, the anti-Gideons don't bother to place that title, these days... Isn't that weird?

Why? What's so wrong about taking it?

Every time someone takes a bible, the world gets a little smarter.

The little crinkly pages are perfect for packing dishes in boxes during a move or getting the fireplace going.

Are you a book burner, or do you mean the world gets smarter by reading the Bible?

Alternative uses for a bible. A little base but amusing nonetheless. :D

I'm a firm believer in using books as insulation, but that's when you have floor to ceiling shelves. Besides, bits of the King James are so very pretty, surely it isn't the book's fault if people take it too seriously?

What about leaving a copy of "The Death of the Author" instead? :D

Im for not destroying the property of others, no matter how influential it may seem...

The bible is a useful as a bedtime storybook if you skip over the killing and sex references. :D

I would love to, but my unamerican country doesnt do silly things like waste resources on free bibles. Tell you what. If you see a bible, RECYCLE the damn paper.

Don't destroy Bibles. That's not right.

Take them to you local library and file them under "fiction - anthologies." Or place them next to other fictional bibles, like Atlas Shrugged, Shardik, or The Da Vinci Code.

Definitely and uncertain, respectively.

Oh, but those are some of the best parts - certainly better than the "begats" in Genesis 5 and 10 or most of the census information in Numbers. Unfortunately, the killing and sex bits are pretty oblique by today's standards (e.g. network television). Plus, you can get rich quick from those motel bibles.

And remember: books don't make people stupid, people make people stupid.

Meh. Destroying books is wrong.

Y'know, there's got to be something done about the Atheistic Fundmentalists on this board. I say we get them liquored up on the drinks of their choice. :D

well in my country (and as a hotel manager I can certify it :p ) we don't place bibles in hotel room, we have more usefull things like lists of biggest shopping centers in town, tabloids and other diverting stuff.

But in you young rebel days I would just have ripped off the cover and replaced the book by a porn novel :p wich as Chris said wouldn't make a big difference ;)

Next time you should see an Ulrika, register your disgust by burning her and keying her baby.
