Can't imagine how I missed that. Thanks for setting me straight, Pol.

Go Firefly!

Firefly all the way, baby!
That show (and Serenity) totally, absolutely, in all measure of the word, rocks. If only it hadn't gone off the air........ Come back, Joss Whedon, come back! We miss you! ![]() _____________________

Firefly

They need to resurrect Firefly. Even with the forced evolution of the movie it's a show worth seeing again.
I'm gonna start up a multi-national corproation just so i can throw my 8 bazillion dollar advertising budget behind Joss. |

They need to resurrect Firefly. Even without Wash and Book, which would be hard to do, it's a show worth seeing again. I'm gonna start up a multi-national corproation just so i can throw my 8 bazillion dollar advertising budget behind Joss. Can you keep the spoilers to a minimum? There are still unconverted browncoats out there yet to know! _____________________

I don't see why Lost doesn't count as sci-fi. It's not a space opera, but it has plenty of sci-fi stuff such as "monsters" made out of smoke that can knock down trees and scan people's minds, kids with seemingly supernatural abilities, and mystical numbers. "Lost" is a fantasy show (as are most of the others really but they at least make an attempt). It's also a total rip-off in format from an old 70's TV show called "The New People" that was really big when "Room 222" was cutting edge televsion. Also I agree with Kris... "Enterprise?" ENTERPRISE???? You have to be joking. ![]() _____________________

...Serenity rocked. It did?! When I watched Serenity, I just kept thinking, scene by scene 'oh, this bit is stolen from this film/that film'. It was like someone took every action sequence they liked from every sci fi movie ever and glued them together into a semi coherent story. In fact it was so blatantly ripped off, I thought it HAD to be an 'homage' rather than sheer plagiarism (iono if there is a word for 'visual plagiarism'?). I mean, it's well done - if you can forget every movie you ever saw for a while and just watch Serenity for itself, it's not a bad movie. But man, WHAT a ripoff. |

I didn't think that about any of it. _____________________

Can you keep the spoilers to a minimum? There are still unconverted browncoats out there yet to know! Can one still be called a 'browncoat' if the movie is nearly a year old and as yet unseen? I removed the spoiler, though. Maybe there's some converts out there just waiting for the love... |

But man, WHAT a ripoff. I'm with Lianne. We need names and dates! The 'Verse is a mix-up of past and present. Almost cyberpunk that way, with some 'Ponderosa' thrown in. There's bound to be similar themes, but it's not like they took 'Le Femme Nikita' and called it 'Point of No Return'. |

Anyone remember...

All this talk about sci-fi shows and the fact that I am watching The Meaning of Life got me wondering-anyone remember the Max Headroom show? I thought that was pretty cool at the time.
