Trying to settle a discussion. I have a friend here who is curious as to wether or not SL is mostly a liberal or Conservative community.

What do you guys think? Just for curiosity's sake.

The forum skews liberal, definitely, but I suspect the actual in world population is more evenly split. Since it appeals to creative types and a lot of fringe lifestyles I'd imagine the overall distribution still skews liberal but that's probably changing as SL becomes more mainstream. All of that is just guesswork though. There's really no good way to tell.

There once was a poll, in Off-Topic, I believe.

It was about evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, as I recall.

Neither. I'm too far left to be called anything but radical.

Some of my views might be classified one way and some the other way. Personally I prefer not to label myself either way. :)

I would tend to think with the artists, etc., that SL (so far, as I've seen) leans left. Fine by me; I'm overall left-of-center.

You'd have to beat me unconscious before I'd let anyone put me into one of those two drawers.

They're meaningless terms.

We're not categorizing ourselves; we're answering Crow's question.

Is SL mostly liberal or conservative? What do we think?

BTW, we're all shooting in the dark. None of us can remotely begin to prove our expressions.

Do you mean the political views they claim, or how they actually act when they think no one is watching? The two are rarely the same, for either faction.

I drink equally from both wells, but economically conservative and socially liberal covers it.

Neither. I like what I like regardless of what party, etc.. supports it.
I think its silly to do otherwise.

Nice to see that there's still someone that believes the absolutely silly and fairly senseless stereotype that creativity has a political orientation...
