So I admit I didn't know much about this issue -- I just hadn't been following it -- but the considerable concern voiced in Ulrika's "banned" thread made me ... a little curious. ;)

What do you think?

Wow, I didn't expect results like this.

Of course, it's still early. Have to wait and see what happens. :)

I suppose it all depends on what you think was intended when They implemented it.

Voted. Not saying a word so this poll can be as unbiased as possible.

What do I pick if I think it is working as intended but I want to scrap it in favor of sheer chaos?

Aye, that would have been my choice.

I want to pick that option too.

Ulrika needed a time out, btw.

Whether that's the case or not is completely beside the point for the purposes of this poll. I would prefer to keep the focus solely on the merits or lack thereof of the resmod program, please.

After a couple private messages, I've realised that I cannot view the resmod program as anything but a bad idea.

Presently (as of this post), it appears that a reasonable majority of 57.44 percent of the forum population believes that the resmod program is at least flawed, versus 42.55 who think it's just fine as is. It's also interesting to note that of those who see a problem with it, only 14.89 percent believe the program is worth saving at all, while the remaining 42.55 percent (the same number as the total number of voters who believe the program is fine) want to see it gone entirely.

It may be overly optimistic to hope that any action might be taken as a result of this poll, but for the moment, at least, I think it's safe to conclude from this poll that as far as the majority of the forum posters who voted are concerned, the resmod program is unacceptable at the very least in its current form.

I think the timing of this poll is a reason for such polarized results. I think that if you had waited say another week and let the dust settle after Ulrika's suspension the results would be slightly different.

I think it's working, but could be improved. Of course, how to improve it is another matter... maybe the addition of some pie would help.

I've always thought that player mods were a bad idea, IMHO. Too much potential for abuse, with no real recourse other than to say "You're not a mod anymore". Dev hired mods have more of an incentive to do thing right.

Interesting theory. Should we test it?

I dislike reposting the same poll, but shall I wait, say, two weeks or so and then post essentially the same poll a second time, perhaps with a brief explanation as to why?

hmm I think you should and then we can compare the results to this poll and see just how "soapboxish" our fellow "forum followers" are

And in the next poll make it show who voted. That will give insight.

Well, I do, for one. For another, this is a poll, which asks for opinions.

Why are you worried?

The interesting thing with this poll is that, for a while now, the group that holds that the program is fine and the group that holds that it needs to be scrapped entirely have been more or less evenly split, with the group that thinks it just needs to be fixed making up only a very small minority of voters. It seems opinions on this issue are extremely polarized -- the average voter is either very for or very against the resmod program.
