A thought I have some belief in, but do not seriously advance, is the World-as-Myth. That is, every piece of fiction, every story, every creative impulse is a reflection of a real world out there, be it some "alternate universe" or just a corner of our own. This is not to say that one controls the other; they're equal manifestations of the same event.
I have absolutely no logical basis for this; I just think it's kinda neat. _____________________

The universe was created by an omniscient being who wrote a list of laws for people to follow including "though shalt not kill," and then kills his own son- thus showing the truly enlightened that deicide is okay and the creator likes rebels.

The Universe is the result of an Explosion in the Starship Terminus's Engine. Doctor Who stopped another explosion from happening thus saving the Universe.

I have a lot of these, (being that I'm a stark-mad raving lunatic), but a few of my favorites are as follows:
<edited by the CIA> #3. I think that there will be a "Grand Unified Theory" or "Theory of Everything", and it will be a set of laws or concrete rules explaining and reinforcing all of our cultures, religions, and different belief structures. It will very distinctly parallel the "Tree of the Sefirot" / Kabbalistic tree of life. <edited by Jeska Linden> <edited by SETI> <edited by the Japanese Mafia> #73. One of my favorite abstract concepts / hunches of what happens when we die, the following happens : You spend the rest of (however longer you choose to exist) replaying and re-experiencing the life of all of the other creatures to have ever lived on earth. The entire subjective experience of each living creature is recorded, and the planet or existance as we know it was just a "movie", was "entertainment", and as we all get uploaded back into the collective unconscious we find that the "afterlife" is a big multimedia/TiVO setup where we can literally leap into the experience and life of any other entity that has lived. The first part is mandatory - We experience "purgatory" or "karma", we experience our entire life again but instead of from OUR subjective point of view we experience the inverse, we experience the joy and pain we brought to the people around us in each situation. Every person we have intentionally (possibly even unintentionally and indirectly) hurt, we are suddenly experiencing their side of things, basically replaying the viewpoint and opposite experience, good and bad. After that we are given the ability to choose and replay portions or all of the lives of anyone at our whim. <edited by GWB> <edited by ODB> _____________________
