I have tried everything in the book, maybe some outside help!? Last night I went to log into SL and before it would let me I got a popup from SL saying that my Intel Chip driver is out of date. It led me to a page to update, I did so. That didn't work. I tried uninstalling SL, didn't work. I went to update my NVIDIA driver for sh*ts and giggles, that didn't work. I rebooted machine, did system restore, rebooted modem... anything I did still nothing! Total times I reinstalled SL was 5 times. Nothing. I get a screen that says my connection is "mangled". I let the machine rest, still same error. Does anyone have suggestions, or even been through this issue and can help me out??? PLEASE??????

Have you tried deleting the SL cache, per this thread?

I went through this. It sucks. Intel isn't supported by SL, so it won't work if you have an Intel chipset driver installed. The only thing I could think of after going through the same steps as you (I am now completely bald) was to do a system restore. I'm on my work computer right now so I can't walk you through it, but you can find out easily by typing "system restore" in the Find program. I simply restored my system to the day before the chipset thingy started wreaking havoc. I'm not sure why this works but I can now use SL without breaking a sweat. Hope that helps

Lo, did this, didn't work. System restore did not help whatsoever. But why would it just all of the sudden take a dump on me?

Have you tried uninstalling Intel? *scratches head* (I missed the part where you said you did the system restore) I don't really know, then. Maybe one of the real techno folk can help ya. Sorry

The intel driver is for the computer's motherboard chipset (which does things like reading/writing to hard disk etc). It seems like you had a working system before. First rule of system administration is if it ain't broken don't fix it. Even if SL loader tells you your driver is outdated. As long as the "old" version (which was not old maybe few weeks ago) works stick with it.
So what's your problem again? You can't start SL? If the new intel driver is borked you should have trouble with other programs on your computer too, random crashes, slow disk access...
Possible solutions - since you already did a restore (are you sure it was from a point before you upgraded the intel driver?) without success, you can just grab an older version of the driver (IIRC the Intel download page has many old versions) and try to downgrade. You ought to find some version that works. Note there are two programs, Intel Chipset Driver (also called INF Update Utility) and Intel Application Accelerator, you only need the first one really
