Anything I buy in game, since todays patch, immediately disappears from my inventory now when I log out and back in. It's all gone. Tested it multiple times. Anything I buy off a vendor, off Slex, off a friend, deletes and is gone on log in. I can't do anything at all.
Seems like it might be anything that goes to my object folder. Vendors in game that I bought that gave me items that go to objects, slexchange of course, even product updates etc. That might be where it is happening. I'm a pro at searching and filters. i've never lost anything and I can always find stuff. I think this is a serious problem since it's happened as fast as I log in and out and it's NOT stopping. It just continues to happen. Can someone a Linden please check. I'm unable to play.

The same thing happened here. I bought a couple items in the game that went directly to my objects folder and I also did this yesterday. The item I bought yesterday is still there, the ones I bought after the latest patch (tonight) are gone. I did a search and it's no where to be found. I tested it myself a couple times as well both through the vendors with the pay option that sends things to object folder and with the slex site. In both cases, they are gone - poof!
What I did notice is if you move stuff out before you log out, it doesn't get deleted, but I never had to do this before. I lost almost 10k in linden. It's gone.

Have same issue

What happpens when I buy items from anything slex or in game it goes to my objects folder as usual. If I log out and log back in it disappears to never be seen. Not in LaF or in trash just gone.
If I buy an item but move it to another folder and relog the item is still there. Regardless of this it is still a bug and could really cost someone a lot of money if they don't know about this yet.

Nicole Linden says there is a new method for returning items that clump items together, but I can't tell you about it here - you have to contact Live Help.
I tried to explain that is not the way this is happening, but she insist that it is. Contact live help for more information.

I did and they thought it was "interesting" and they said they would forward it to someone higher up who cares 2.0% more about it. I wish I knew what happened to all my stuff. The inventory is counting it as less. I don't see why they would hide how to fix this, it's a money issue. I lost a good amount of stuff i bought, sounds like people above did too. So I am wondering why, because it shouldn't work that way or be an inside secret, it worked fine for over a year and a half for me.This happened just today or yesterday I should say, with the patch. It's horrible and not right.
I contacted Live support on two accounts tonight and 3 other people I was with did the same, because they also have this problem. There was no "fix" or trick told to anyone. I asked random people to do it, and I bought them cheap stuff on slex. They logged out and back in and it was gone. Maybe 18 people I did this with. I really hope they fix it.

This thread is about items missing - real money that is spent on things that end up being gone. This should be a priority fix. It would be in any other game, I've witnessed this issue in several massively multiplayer games, only those items don't cost real money, these do, and it's silly not to have this addressed immediately. Lag and packet loss are also issues but this thread isn't about that.

Same thing happened to a purchased set of clothing. The box vanished. A friend of mine lost her chestpiece to her own build.

I've seen several reports of this in assorted "Lucky Chair" groups (vested interest: I make the lucky chairs). Current wisdom seems to be that if a chair gives you "boxed" clothing, and if you don't unpack that clothing before logging out, then the boxed item will have dissapeared from your inventory next time you connect.
If you unpack the stuff before logging out, then the unpacked items seem to be safe.
Seems plausible that this is a side-effect of the last batch of anti-grey-goo measures; you're being passed an object by a scripted object (e.g. lucky chair, or scripted vendor), and the next time you log in, said object has been mis-identified as grey goo, and automagically deleted.
I haven't had anybody complain to me about stuff lost from _unscripted_ vendors (i.e. basic prims with contents set for sale) ... so purchases from those sources seem safe.... so far...

I saw this problem described in Linden Answers with a test of it setup, ran the test, I get the same result.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that I crash every time I log out. Does anyone else see that? Maybe it's not having a chance to save inventory or something, not that that should matter.

This is clearly not a fool-proof safety even though many are recommending it as such including support at SL Exchange. I have become a "Keep My Inventory Organized " fanatic and before I unpack anything I create a folder for it under the appropriate tab, e.g., clothing ,etc. I bought some clothing on Friday and Saturday and followed my established procedure religiously. On Staurday afternoon I discovered that all of these items were gone. The folders that I had moved them to were still there but they were empty. Also, if you look at my post on Linden Answers you will learn that I also lost a custom-made house and all its furnishings, electronics, and decorations that I had taken into inventory all in one piece. These all had a total value of more than $20,000Ls. Because of the value and obvious importance of my house and all of my belongings I was VERY careful to move this "object" to a clearly marked folder that I filed under a "Housing" Tab. that I had created for this purpose. On Saturday afternoon the folder was still in its appropriayte place but it was empty.

I am not kidding my solution has not filed me yet. Nonetheless I do not doubt your losses. Perhaps my solution solves one sort of inventory loss problem but you are experiencing something different? I fully admit in my 2.5 years in SL I have NEVER lost anything from inventory. Others in the family have. It seems to be real hit or miss.

I am certain you are correct in there being multiple bugs having the same result, i.e., lost inventory items. Over the past month or so there have been numerous but sporadic reports of such losses. However, what is occurring since the latest rollout of the new client is something altogether different in its scale and scope.

I'm having the same problem. I purchased an animation overrider off of SL Exchange. The delivery went fine and I wore and used the item in question. All was well, until i decided to change avatars. I dragged a folder onto myself, wento find the AO in question to rewear it and low and behold, it's no longer in my inventory.
I've searched my inventory in just about every way possible with hopes of finding it with no luck. Contacted live help, recieved a notecard that apparently deals with lost returned items. Not really related to what happened but I tried it anyhow. No luck. Reinstalled SL. Nothing.
Consider me frustrated.

Two days ago, I spent more than 1250 in Lindens, buying some of Aura Lily's items. (She has great stuff) They were gorgeous and not boxed....of the nine items I puchased, I have two to show for it. I filed a bug report. I've read all of the previous posts on this issue from this thread. Why do I have the sinking feeling that I just lost 1250 + in Lindens and not one Linden cares? Not to mention all the downtime of late in this game which costs anyone here doing business, money, but now I'm loosing money from lost inventories. I think what bothers me the most is, the Lindens not at least acknowledging this issue. The fact that so many feel frustration on this board from this game as a result of crappy updates, combined with the Lindens tight lips, really isnt' appropriate. What would be an honest attempt on their part, is to at least acknowledge life hasn't been the picket fence we all knew at one time, which would show some compassion by doing so. It would be nice if they could back up something and restore our items, but, I"m not holding out for that as I"m sure many of you are not as well. I also can't see them crediting us for down time, but the fact that they never say a word, can feel rather insulting. I am tired.

While I agree missing inventory sucks and needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY! (why they haven't taken the grid offline to fix this as quickly as they did for the permissions bug is beyond me). The majority of reputable sellers maintain lists of sales either by the vendor itself or on a website (like apez.biz). As such, they have a transaction record of your name and what you purchased. 9 times out of 10 they will be more than happy to replace a missing item for you. Along with missing inventory, I've noticed that IM to eMail is no longer working either as of the new patch. Group notices are though.
