To whom is the money being paid? Unless the object is set to pay anyone who uses it and set in a public space, that's a clue about who the theif is.
The object name is in the transaction history, too, but that might not help much.

Have you tried searching for the object using the Electric Sheep's new search tool? It might show up if you type your own name into the search. Worth a shot...

You have to be in the same area as the item. I'm willing to bet it was placed randomly in some hard to access area, and therefore you'll never find it to remove it.

However you can find the region location of the object in transaction history, and even more if the avatar have insuficient found in his account the script allways send an llOwnerSay ,if that object was placed by your hijacked account the im must be send it to you when have insuficient founds.if you can found the region where the object was placed and you teleport to that region take a look around explore all the sim even in the sky (set draw distance at maximun ) and you can see a light blue dot in the minimap (I use that for find my missed objects on te sim )

Yes, no doubt it moved itself as soon as permissions were granted. But Papalopalous is correct in that you can find the region from the transaction history, and if you opt-in with ElectricSheep you should be able to find the object's location.
When you're in the vicinity, turn on beacons for scripted objects (because no doubt it's totally clear and small). If it's also moving quickly all the time, it could be very hard to pin down. I'm tempted to make a "valuable lesson" freebie. If anyone grants it permission to take money, it warns them they could have just been scammed. Good news is LL did do SOMETHING to help avoid this kind of problem in the future. The popup to allow permission to take money now looks very different from the ones for other permissions. It's bigger, it's yellowish, and it has a pretty good warning. No help for the OP's friend, unfortunately. Ack, old post alert! |
