Howdy!
It seems that whenever I put on a shirt (doesn't matter which) my AV's hands and arms lose their 'skin' texturing and become the same color as the shirt. It seems that sleeve length and shirt length don't matter, when trying to fix this behavior. I've cleared my cache... and other users report that my hands and arms assume the shirt color on their computers as well. Taking off the shirt returns the upper body to the proper naked avatar look.
Not that I mind walking around half-naked. But, hey, you know.

Bug with cache, and texture baking, sometimes it render all wrong and you get wierd looking skins , i have one wich make my hands green ,, Usually fixed by deleteing you SL cache content, or by changing the the clothing/piece wich make it , a tiny bit then save (refreshes texture), sometimes a height change on AV helps to. I noticed you tried cache tho, this is a bug thats been around awhile , -.-: , i still get green hands one some combinations with my clothes, usually when i wear gloves with them

Aah... thanks for the pointers. I'll give that a shot the next time I'm on. And for anyone else who reads this topic, later, here's another reference to this problem, as it was occurring about 2 months ago: /111/40/46998/1.html

I'm not sure if the Linden people read these posts or not, but in case they do and in case they're interested in fixing this bug, it appears to be related to my video card.
When I run SL on another computer with a NVidia 6800, everthing about my appearance renders fine.
When I switch back to the machine with the ATI x300 in it, the problem recurs.
And... in messing around with it even further, it looks like my video card isn't clipping textures correctly for clothing items for which the textures are all non-alpha colors.
That is, if I put on a clothing item which uses a texture that is mostly transparent (eg. the default male undershirt), everything bakes fine. (For this particular piece of clothing, modifying the sleeve length does nothing because the sleeves are transparent.)
But when I put on a piece of clothing that has uses a texture that has no transparent parts, 1. the appearance sliders for adjusting sleeve or shirt length do nothing: Everything is full-length. 2. It looks like the texture gets applied to my skin even beyond where the article of clothing should cover. That is, a shirt with such a texture covers not only all of my torso, but my arms, neck, hands, and legs down to about mid-shin.
Weird. I suspect a driver upgrade would solve the issue... but I'm already running the latest drivers for the card (again, an ATI x300).
