From: Tommy Costello Your probably gonna want 2 gigs of ram.....Personally if i was buying a new computer id put 2 74 gig raptors in raid 0 for gaming (Cheetah's work to)..an buy a 160+ to store data...If you go above the 3500+ make sure you have the extra cache otherwise its not much of a performance difference. I would hold off on the SLI alot of times it gives less FPS then a single card would. Eventually I'll have 2 gigs ...The whole point for now was a sweet system for under 2k. Considering the Ram I'm using is high grade stuff its costing me 260 for 1 gig. Raid 0 will do nothing for gaming....but for applications and multitasking it is some serious fastness. For right now I have a single card...within the next week or so I'll set up the other card....half way through building now and getting ready to flash the bios and then set it up....I don't know how people get wires all nice and neat ......

Well, the system is up and running ....I am running SL full blast and its like a hot knife through butter. I have everything turned on and all the way open ( except shadows) and the game has all new perspective for me now. Everything is crisp and clear and the movement is fluid.
The system has been up and running now for a week and has been bechmarked on every benchmark test out there and to say the least its a beast.
Anyone thinking about getting a new computer should really look into building your own....very easy to do and you control every part that goes into it. Final price was $1885.69 about $1000 less than comparable systems I was looking at.

What kind of FPS are you getting w/ all your settings turned up?
