Residents Unable to Log In

Myself and several others are unable to log in. I see nothing under the announcements thread and the website states the grid is open. Any clue as to what is going on and when it will be resolved?

We get stuck for eternity on log in screen which eventually gives way to the "despite our best efforts, blah blah blah"

Anyone else having difficulty, please post here. Let's not start 800 separate threads, so LL can see us all moaning in one place and resolve the issue.

Me too... stuck at the login screen... waiting, waiting... nothing (but an error)


EDIT: After some waiting, I finally DID GET IN! Just seemed very very very slow!

Same here. Screen just freezes.
Some official insight would be nice.

I was in the Magenta Sim just a bit ago, and it definitely crashed. Can't say for sure about the rest of the grid. But in Magenta, I did get the standard "The server for the sim you are in is going down" message.

There was nothing unusual going on in the sim that I was aware of. No sign of griefer attacks, no Chat indicating any strife. Just a crash.

It tells me that my bf is logged in but since he is sitting here beside me having the same sign in issues as myself. So, don't beleive that those are all really in.

My Pi angels cove is also off line. all it said was the sim i was in was going down. then loged me out. Nothing unusual going on at the time.

Yes I am having problems as well. I did finally mange to get in, but a LOT of sims are down. It looks almost like a patchwork quilt of sims being down all over the mainland. I am suprised that there is not some sort of announcement from the lindens.

It says my Companion is logged in as well. We were in teh same room when Magenta crashed, and I still can't log back in. I suspect the crashing sims were unable to notify the Friends Online service when they went down.

OK. It finally logged me in - to a random nearby server!

This seems to happen a lot on Sundays. I'm sure the Lindens are low staff on Sunday.

Hoo! Looking at the map, just about all the sims near Olive, where I got dumped when it finally let me in, are off-line.

Yes folks, that was a major grid crash! And it's just coming back on-line.

Looks like 25% of the southern mainland and a strip along the South coast of the Northern mainland is down.

I got logged out and when i try to get back in , i get the "Logging in, Second Life may seem frozen blah blaahdy blah blah"

Ok my friend just got in and was sent to another server where she can't move or TP.

Here is the scarey bit....She is trapped inside a giant church and is currently awaiting the angry fundie mob to rush in with torches! What's a witch to do? HELP!

I am not able to log on at all Think the grid is hard crashed!

Ah convert quickly or at least appear to do so?

Something triggered a grid-wide failure at around 7:25am PST. We are looking into the problem and are working on getting the grid up and running as soon as possible.

I will post again as soon as I have further news.

Ok folks...this isn't official insight, but here's what I've been able to figure out.

For one, the entire SL world, or about two-thirds of the grid, went down for whatever reason.
All those people bumped off then started trying to log in at the same time, and the login server was getting bogged from all the simultaneous logins. If you still can't login at the moment, try waiting a little bit. That's what I had to do, and I finally got in.

As to why the grid went down, I don't know. It seemed to effect everything, because for a while I couldn't even access the website; it just took me to the grid status page, which said SL was down for maintenance. But a few moments later I could access the website again, and when I went to the status page, it said it was functioning. Then I tried to log in and couldn't get in for about five minutes. Then when I tried again, I finally got back in, but then I got moved to Sandbox Island and when I looked at the World Map, about two thirds of the grid seems to be offline, and I can't teleport anywhere.

My guess is, sit back, sit tight, relax, and let the Lindens work on it. When they got something worth telling us, I'm sure there'll be an official announcement.

Incidentally, my friend who made it in said 50% of the map is browned out so this is a grid wide problem.

Well it froze and it goes no were... whats going on?!?!?!?
