Hi there.
My Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 8600 (1.6 Centrino; 512MB) with a Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo (128MB).

The whole troubles began when I dragged an avatar template from the library on my character. SL closed by itself then.

Now, whenever I try to start SL everything goes perfect until I reach the "precaching" part of the world entry process, then SL just closes.

I tried clearing the cache, which lead to a complete precaching process but when I'm in the world and tried to move around, SL crashes again within a few seconds.

In the path of fixing the whole thing, I . . .
cleared the cache (via options menu and manually)
de- and reinstalled the software
applied more system and SL cache
consulted my pillow

nothing of the above fixed the problem and I'm clueless what else I could try

Sorry, but I don't think that's it. I tried around a bit and finally came to the solution, that the problem has nothing to do with the SL server. I think changing the avatar was the problem. It gave my PC more work than it can handle and then SL terminated the process for not finishing in time.
