A few questions - are these being addressed?

I've been a SL member for a few years, mostly just casual log on to see progress of the SL servers and client. Its getting better, but I see the some of the same issues that I saw years ago..

The issues are mostly technical issues, that I'm sure LL is working on, but the doesnt negate that there is a problem. Are these basic design issues in the server code?

1. Prim amount. It appears that there isnt enough prims for design of a structure and objects within.

2. Land rental, how can you make an apartment building and mall if the prims are used up?

3. 40 people max per sim? Really seems rather low on a large sim with a mall and club.

4. Sound, really need to block sound with walls if needbe. People putting up annoying objects in high traffic area or next to your private house, or favorite club is horrible.

5. Synced Audio and Video for the masses, like a real movie theater.

6. Speeding up GFX rendering, even with all options turned down low on a newer nvidia 7900 and dual core cpu, many malls can cripple the user experience.

7. Objects infront doesn't load first, which is rather annoying when youre view isnt first render priority.

8. Zone bugs, if your sitting and you zone, your avatar pose is messed up. Seems to be a pretty popular bug.. Zoneing should reset all poses. (IMHO)

9. Multi-tired group prims, so a group member cant hog prims, and/or it returns on a timelimit.

I'm sure I have more, but those where the ones that been bothering me... I was thinking of starting a video content business linked to a RL business, but SL issues makes me question if I should even do it. I havnt been following the dev boards, so if these are way to common of questions, you know why I posted them.

Hi Stonecold, welcome back. :) Alas this forum isn't for Technical Issues as it says in About This Forum. I'll move this there, but some quick clarifications. In many of these, more details are appreciated, and you can of course look at the Feature Voting Tool to see what's been proposed.

(1) Hmmm if I have a vague idea of what you're getting at, we do know a related prob: 117 prims/512 m2 doesn't satisfy a lot of new Residents. We don't have plans to increase the total prims in a region (standard 15,000) but Guy Linden, our new Land Guru, is looking into new ways to arrange First Land.

(3) Up to 100 on a private island, 40 is standard for the mainland.

(5) This will work if you have QuickTime installed, and you can watch video inworld. On a healthy computer, audiovisuals should be synced.

(6) Sounds like it needs more technical details. :)

So for what you think are bugs, please provide a step-by-step reproduction which we can understand, and send it inworld from Help menu > Report Bug. A good guide is here: Bug Reporting 101

Please also feel free to search the forum archives, there's historically been a lot of discussion about some of what you mention.
