Crash at Startup

I've looked and I can't find a post that helps to solve this.

I am creating my first SL character and about two seconds after I click to log on, the game crashes.

All of my computer components are at or above what the recommendations are.

Can anyone help?

We are screwed, Can't get anywhere for last hour. If you can get back on, it will put you where ever sl pleases. I am on help island

ok, so its SL not my computer or anything?

If you instant crash after logon it can be that you have not supported hardware, what are you running on. (pc specs)

Spent two hours on help island could not tp anywhere. Finally flew the heck out of there

Inconclusive. But if you crash before you get online I would think it's something on your end. All that happens when you launch SL from your computer is you start up the software to be able to log on and view the game. You might have a corrupted download.........try uninstalling SL and reinstalling. It could also be something to do with any firewall you have on your system. Once launched the program checks in with SL to get the status and all that stuff............and if your firewall is blocking that first request to SL then it might be the problem.
