Unable to connect

Ok when I try to log in the game freezes at Prepairing inventory....I was logged in moments ago when I ghosted and decided to try relogging. This is becomming a pain in my ass....at any rate it may be related to an item worn on my character, the Nexcom phones....I've tried using the normal log in and the command line \plum\120\0 . I also tried having my mate llog in for me, she was met with the same results. Please help!

now I can't get in, stuck at "Preparing Inventory..."

gah, every moment away from my mate makes me anxious and exitible! Its bad enough we have to deal with the $300 ATI cards running like shit, now connection problems I pay the lindens $25/month to take care of this stuff, its not much, but I do expect my money's worth Now to hack my drivers so they think I'm using a non-ati card while I wait to log in

Me too and I hada new phone I was wearing. I had been in a sim 30 seconds when my attachments all disapeared. So I did what I came there to do and still no attachments so decided to relog and haven't been able to get back, even after waiting 5 minutes the bar finally moved a little then it kicked me back to the first logon page.

perhaps this is related to the phone somehow...think I'ma try calling the CSC.

Its not anything youre wearing, i'm have the same problems. And when I am in, i'm laggin and freezing up so bad I can't do a thing. Actually I get tired just trying to move my avatar around..yeah this definitely sucks

Wasnt having any trouble until I ported and my attachments wouldnt load....*sigh* Id still be in game if my hair showed up lol. Now its sit and wait time.

We will be maintaining usual liaison hours through the holidays, and a grid monkey is on call 24/7.

There will be people in the office to answer the 800 number Tuesday-Thursday next week (12/28-12/30), and we'll be checking the support mail regularly throughout.

I joined about 5 hours ago - this is the second time i can not login.

Same problem as everyone else...was logged on, signed out and now can't get past "loading inventory"

Love the game, love the people...just frustrated tonight. Most nights and days I have no trouble logging in and enjoying myself.

Thought it is was just me! Guess I have to just be patient.

I may be sorry later, for posting this - but I had to....

As an experienced game developer (I used to work at Sierra), I often find myself wondering: "Do the phone companies and power companies catch this much crap every time they have a slight interruption in service?"

Remember folks that this is not a huge company with legions of employees at our beck and call. A lot of SL players are there basically for "free" (that $10 fee to join doesn't even BEGIN to cover their bandwidth costs - which us users run up month after month - and what about their upfront development costs, too?)... So they can't AFFORD to have a legion of employees.

I've only been on SL for about a week; but my customer-support issue was handled in a timely manner (right after Xmas, no less). It seems that during normal operations, their staff is adequate.

As pointed out at the beginning of my post, even 100-year old institutions like the Power & Phone companies have outtages. You *ARE* paying for their service (some of you) - so you have a right to a reasonable level of service....

But let's be patient here, OK? No need to post over and over and work ourselves into a frenzy... People have posted the problem, LL is surely aware of it, no need to spam the thread and get upset.

and yes my phone compnay did when they screwed up getting my dsl in by the promised date and every time i have an outage i call since it took a week of constant calling and harrassing for them to find the problem of 2 incorrect done wires
