Okay, my computer ISNT the best, it handles SWG just nearly fine, it just lags a little, VERY little.

When i play SL everytime i log in it says my Graphics card isnt good (Intel(R) Extreme Graphics card) And once i play it sometimes DOESNT lock up and mess up my computer, but sometimes it does, when i try changing my character...His skin changes, literally, i mean not like the options you get, but its like a friggen chameleon, parts of the objects in the land becomes part of him, and when i start to edit him after awhile it locks up.

I dont understand it...SWG works nearly fine but this doesnt? I would get my Nvidia Graphics card but my computer is Compaq, and doesnt have any Graphic cards in...its not capable of having one because they dont seem to fit, only one does *The main one*, I have another computer but it wont let Memory in because its way too far in the back on the mother board, hoarded by cords and we dont want to damage anything, in other words im most likely fucked, unless someone can help me -.-

Hey Jasp :) Welcome to SL... SL is a unique world with a unique set of system requirements. It operates quite differently from the other MMOs and such out there. One example is this: with all the custom textures that are inworld and need to be streamed, SL needs a lot of video card power to grab that as quickly as possible and display them for your avatar to navigate around and interact with, not to mention all the calculations that need to be performed in realtime. So in this regard, it's really not comparable to SWG. It's... to use a colorful analogy... trying to drink a whole ocean with a soda straw.

There are past Forum threads like this with more details:

SL is happy with a lot of computer power. Hope you can get something that works well! Take care. :)

The Intel Extreme graphics chipset unfortunately isn't compatible with Second Life. You'll need at least an nVidia GeForce2 or an ATI Radeon 8500. If your motherboard doesn't have AGP video card slots, you'll need a PCI format card.

Be warned; installing a video card is probably the second-most-difficult installation (short of the processor itself). If you're not comfortable mucking around with your computer internals, it's best to have a pro do it.
