it tells me that the intel drivers im using are know to cause problems... but no matter what i do i cant find any different ones... and the (Goto Page) button only takes me to the support page ... no drivers  then after trying to log in I get an error window  SmartHeap Library Mem_bad pointer then right after that another error  Microsoft C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program C:/~~/newview.exe Abnormal program termination HELP! haha _____________________

The Intel Extreme Graphics chip is really not good at all - its a "budget" solution that comes with some pre-built systems and is not recommended for SecondLife (or any 3d applications, really); to the best of my knowledge.
I know some people do get it to run with SL, but you really do need the latest drivers. They can be found here: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df/Product_Search.asp?Prod_nm=Extreme*Graphics (You will have to figure out which model of Intel Extreme Graphics that you have. Simply pick it and then choose your Operating System - and you will be able to download the latest drivers) Try to install those drivers. If they do not solve the problem, you may want to try to uninstall and re-install Second Life. Do you use any other 3D games or programs? There's an outside possibility that there is a problem / impending failure in your graphics hardware; but its almost impossible to tell without testing it thoroughly with other 3D programs. If you want to test your graphics card, you could start by downloading and running the 3dMark benchmarking tools sereval times: http://www.3dmark.com/download/ (Pick 3dMark '03 if you have an older PC, 3dMark '05 if your computer is newer) Best of luck! But see... it worked fine until I reformatted. And for some reason or another I had a lot of trouble reinstalling my videocard and soundcard. But no matter what drivers I install or how many times I reinstall SL nothing helps... Grand Theft Auto works and Rollercoaster Tycoon works and Sims 2 haha but I cant make SL work no matter what.
Oh well... haha if anyone else has a suggestion please do say. Guess I'll go pester Dell somemore _____________________
