Frustrating Problem Playing SL

Ok so I've developed a new problem that's pissing me off :p

When I play SL, it loads fine and things go at the normal speed, but something is happening now. The framerate starts to drop at about .1 frames a second and eventually gets near zero and stops working. I get the stuck screen and my sound begins to slow down to slow motion mode and remains like that for about 10 seconds and then the FPS shoots up and the process starts again.

Here's what I've done so far: I thought maybe I didn't have enough RAM (384 MB) so I upgraded my RAM (to 1 GB) and that didn't work. I put in a different graphics card and that didn't work. Then I finally reformatted my hard drive just now and it's still crappy.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me or something else I should try? Thanks!

Derek, could you be experiencing UpdateGeom lag? More info here :::

I went ahead and checked and UpdateGeom seems to stay the same, however RenderUI takes a HUGE leap and fills the entire graph when this happens. I'm thinking more and more it is my hardware and nothing to do with the programming of SL nor any sort of Windows error.

Are you wired or wireless?

When I was on wireless I could tell I was about to crash when streaming music started sounding like a 45 rpm record playing at 33 rpm (sorry for the example, I know some of you are too young to remember vinyl). Sometimes it recovered, sometimes it didn't. I have never had that problem with a wired connection.

Hmm... How about a proxy?

My connection is wired and I actually have better playing experience on a wireless machine than a wired so far :p

nVidia GEForce FX 5700 Ultra

Only 10 days late :D

The computer actually stopped working completely a couple of days ago so this is probably futile hehe
