Yes, my avatar is messed up. And I can't change it or anything.. I posted about this a long time ago, but I never checked back to see if anyone responded.
Anyway,
My avatar is all glitchy, and the face, clothes and stuff are all messed up looking.
Can you please help?
Thankyou. <3

As I said in that thread, it's probably your video card. Either your drivers are messed up, or you have a hardware problem, caused by either overheating or bad power, or (less likely) bad RAM. Do you know what kind of video card you have? Or any of your computer's specs? Is it a laptop? Is it a prepackaged computer like Dell or HP? If so, can you check the model number on the front or the back?

It's a regular computer. It's supposedly one of the best video cards out there.. but appearently isn't.

In that case, I'm thinking it could be your power supply. The 6600 GT is an excellent card and a great value, but it needs an incredible amount of power. Do you know the manufacturer of your power supply and/or case? Do you know what your power supply's model number or wattage rating is? "350W", "400W", something like that? If you can open your computer and look at the side of the power supply, what does give for the amperage rating for Min/Max/Peak amperage on the +12V rail? Max should ideally be a number like 20A, for example.

Okay, did you buy the case with a power supply already in it, or did you buy them seperately? Or did you buy the computer already assembled? Antec sells (and has sold) various Lanboy cases with and without power supplies. Do you know if your power supply is made by Antec, or if it's a different brand?

Actually my video card is a NVidia 6800 And it's 300W. The power supply did come with the case.

From: Lucid Sapeur Actually my video card is a NVidia 6800 And it's 300W. Unfortunately, that's your problem. The 6800 needs at least a 350W power supply, and it has to be a good brand, Antec, for example. Not all power supplies are created equal, and if you don't have one with AT LEAST a rating of 15 amps for "maximum" (not peak!) on the +12V rail, you're going to have problems. If the only problem you're seeing is artifacting on your avatar while running SL, it's likely your power supply is ALMOST good enough. Have you got any other devices plugged into the cable running from your power supply to your video card? Swapping the cables around might actually be enough to make the difference you need.

My NVidia card is a 6800, not GT. It only needs 300W according to documentation. And the power supply has 16 amps, and 350W. It's an SL 350 from Antec.

Yeah.. well I figured out the problem, it was my avatar. Because I logged onto my friend's avatar and it wasn't messed up, it was perfectly fine. How can that be? Why is it that only 'my' avatar is messed up. Now I'm going to have to make a new one.

From: Lucid Sapeur Because I logged onto my friend's avatar and it wasn't messed up, it was perfectly fine. How can that be? Because your friend's avatar's texture wasn't baked on your machine. If you adjust your avatar on your friend's machine, I'm 99% sure it will work properly (thus confirming what has been told to you so far).
